Don's just fine thank you all very much. I posted my experience in the Nurses Week thread.

Are you still not smoking?

Those 21mg patches are a doozie. I was always more of a 14'er myself, even when I was smoking 1+ pack a day.

The real kicker are the 7mgs. Those were worse than no patch at all. Don't be alarmed if you turn in to beyotch royale when you step from 14 to 7. Think about how far you've come. Sometimes it is easier to s*** it up for a day or so and just go without.

Two of my favorite things when quitting--Tic Tacs and sunflower seeds.

I've used the patch before. When it was first made available for prescription. I was the first person my doctor prescribed it for. Worked well then and I see no reason it won't now.

I think Don may be in trouble when I get to the 7. But then I'm doing so good I may just stop at 7. It will be interesting considering I went Excorcist on his butt yest for cracking jokes when I was worried about him. The difference was my head spun around 3 times and I didn't spew green pea soup. that's what I did last year, thought I was doing sooo good, and just quit the patches. Then, when the stress of a police officer showing up at the door looking for my 'scrapper' daughter, (yes, I said daughter not one of my sons  ).

First thing I did was.............smoke.

Doctors are claiming the miracle drug is now Chantix http://www.chantix.com/

I've had several friends who have smoked for 50+ years and quit easily with Chantix. Dreams are crazy they say, though.

I don't have time to go into details. (Lulu and Don know them). It involved zombies chasing me in their underwear, me driving a god awful Dodge Journey like a bat outta hell to run from them, cryptic cell phone calls from the zombies, a zombie hit and run (I ran over his underwearing a$$) and getting lost in the downtown area of some strange city. I woke up paranoid, freaked out and Bailey going psycho clawing at the window because some stray cat dared to walk into her driveway. :o :o :o

Thank God I'm not on chantix. [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

No - although I've had weird dreams there have been only 2 times that they bothered me. Both times the patch was on my left side and both times I drank a diet Coke that evening. I've had the patch on the left side with no diet coke and dreams were ok. I'm cutting out the diet coke. If the dreams persist then I'll take it off at night. I really don't want to do that becuase I WAS the kind of smoker that would light up within the first 5 minutes of waking up. Sometimes I just sat up in bed, turned on the morning news and lit a cigarette.

I always had to have a patch on when I slept, too, especially in the first stages. Once I stepped down, I'd keep the patches in the bathroom so when I got up I'd pee, shower, dry, patch.
