Has anyone had any experience with intricately shaped cake pans? My son got me a pirate ship cake pan for Xmas, but I'm wondering if the cake would really slide out of the pan with all the "nooks & crannies".

they make a "cake release" - you can get it from specialty shops...you might also check with your local bakery, they might sell it...

T J MAXX has a nice assortment of summertime picnic dishes. There are two pattern choices to choose from, flip flops or beach chairs and umbrellas. In addition to the place settings they also had various size serving bowls, divided dishes and platters. I thought everything was priced reasonably.

I bake a lot with these pans for our Christmas parties. The only thing I've found to work is to grease and or flour the pan very very well. ALso have a lot of time and patience when you are removing the cake.

Haven't seen a pirate cake pan. That is really cool. When you make a cake you'll have to post a pic of it here so we can all see.

Cake release???? Hmmmm, sounds like something I could use. What type of specialty store carries them. We have at the local mall a store called Kitchen Collection that sells all kinds of baking stuff. i think there is also The Kitchen Shelf store some where in the area.

Is it easy to use? Glad you mentioned this.

Target has a new line of handbags out by designer, Felix Ray. The bags I saw are on an end cap and have a nauticle theme. There are various sizes.

The first that caught my attention was cream with dark blue wave lines. Price: $19.99

The second was a wristlet in neutral color and reddish orange coral design all over.
Price: $19.99

The third was a large cream and gold bad with a large gold shell on the front. Price: $44.00

All were very striking in appearance and looked like a comfortable bag to carry.

You know, with 5 cats, I never even notice that noise anymore. I just reach for the paper towels and handle it.

However, the food is very good. All 5 of our pampered food critics gave it a "paws up" (even the one who has only eaten one flavor of food for 12 years) and better yet, an empty bowl with a "where's more" meow. So, I'd buy it and feed it to them no matter what the name was.

WalMart has the coolest parrot towl clips. Found them on an end cap in the isle where the luau party supplies are. Price $5 for a set of 2. These are the perfect clip for a parrothead to use to clip their tropical beach towl to their lounge chair. The other choice is fish but I thought the parrots were cuter.

Burlington Coat Factory has some very nice storage boxes in various sizes covered in palm tree fabric. These would make a nice addition to any PH room.

Hula skirt outdoor table umbrellas are on sale at Rite Aid drug store. What I like most about these are that they are light enough that one person can install them without any problem. The last one we had took both of us to lift it. And wven with the light weight it is still a qulaity made product. The price is under $30.

For anyone still looking for disposeable plates and cups check your local WalMart is the isle with those products. Dixie has a very nice Hawaiian floral pattern. The plates are white with red hawaiian flowers. There are matching napkins and matching clear cups with the same print.

Prices: Napkins (30 count) $2
Plates (sorry they didn't have a price)
Cups (12 pack) $2

I was checking last night here in PA and couldn't find any. Our stores usually have it in a cardboard display in or at the end of the jell-o isle.

Didn't see it in the grocery stores I visited when I was in MD last week.

As soon as we find it I'll post it here.

Some flavors are available online but only if you buy a case.

20 bucks for the case of 24. If you are interested. I'm going to keep my eye out here, but if you wanted it right now.

I found some at Kroger's a few weeks ago. It was in a cardboard stand on the end by the bakery, about six rows from where the Jell-o should be- it was just sort of stuck there.

The time I saw it in Meijer (in February several years ago), it was in the liquor aisle.
