I guess I just don't get art

I remember when the planned art at MGM's new City Center was announced. I looked at this project and didn't understand it at that time. Now that its built, I look at it and still see nothing I would consider art. Especially in the middle of the desert....what are they thinking to build a pile of boats in the middle of desert and expect it to draw tourists? Am I nuts? Or do others miss the art in this project as well?
If anyone wants to see more pictures or details on how it was constructed, you can view it here.....

I'd take that over these "sculptures" we have at SMF...

To paraphrase: "One person's garbage, is another person's treasure."
Seems like someone had way too much time on their hands.......

Art only exists in the eye of the beholder.
If you're into canoes, I imagine that piece is pretty damn impressive
I'm not into canoes

....and then there's the Spiral Jetty which is in a way out of the way corner of the Great Salt Lake....I have to say that I think it's kind of cool, though.

When I visited this incredible building in Seattle, I spent over 6 hours inside and out,
and I must have walked around this creation for half an hour.
It just spoke to me
LOL... that would be your typical art snob cliché-of-the day

That must have been before they downsized the music exhibits and added the Science Fiction Hall of Fame? Eithr that or the second time around it's not as enthralling. My son and I went for our second time this past November, took our time and got out in about 2 hours. We felt gypped.

It seemed so much smaller. I still would recommend it to anyone who loves music - especially guitars and guitar players.
