I like Blackhawks in 7 ....go Hawks
Uh, not really. We've done it before. But you know, given our defense, we got further than I thought. We get a big time defensemen (or two) and a forward who can park his ass in front of the other teams net, we will be all right.JustDucky wrote:Now the Capitals know what it's like to feel like Colorado - how to choke big time in game 7.
Yeah, I think it was Poti with a broken foot. I mean, how the hell can you/do you play with a broken foot? That's gotta hurt. I did hear that a couple of guys were banged up. But, I didn't want to bring it up lest someone say "You are making excuses for your team!" because I'm not. The better team won. And, if one guy can't play, someone else has to step up. Anyway, I do marvel at how some of these guys play with the injuries they get.C-Dawg wrote:I heard tonight on HNIC that the Caps had a lot of injuries that the players were playing thru......Ovie had a groin pull, Green a bad shoulder, another player playing with a broken foot....not that it's an excuse, because the playoffs are just as much about attrition as they are talent. It was a good series, but the better team moved on....the Caps have a lot to build upon.Hockey Mon wrote:While my question was sort of rhetorical, yeah, a lot of guys did seem to disappear this series. I'm sort of wondering why. Nerves? Inexperience? Loss of focus? Injuries (not that it's an excuse)? I'm sort of amazed the Caps were in this series as long as they were; you can't be that behind on the shot count and expect to win. From what I've read, the Pens played a pretty good game; hats off to you. We picked a bad time to play a poor game.blackjack wrote:Pens just picked the perfect time to play an almost flawless game. And unfortunately, Varlamov finally showed his inexperience. He certainly held the Caps in these playoffs as long as he did and should be commended for getting them this far. Lots of your guys disappeared for the playoffs (Semin, Green, Fedorov, etc.) and that really hurt.Hockey Mon wrote:If anyone has seen my team, can you please have them report to the ice rink? Sheesh, what the hell happened last night? I didn't see the game because I was at the Spinal Tap/Folksman concert, which probably was a blessing in disguise. Soft goals, no shots and a billion turnovers doomed my team. As much as it pains me to say, congrats to the Pens on (yet another) series win.
Fleury let in a few too many soft goals and needs to cap that and Malkin, while having 10 points, needs to step it up a notch if the Pens are going to get back to the finals.
Can't wait to see who comes out of the Canes/Bruins series. Should be interesting.
I agree the next series should be interesting. But then again, at this stage of the season, aren't they all?
The Wings-Ducks game tonight was a great game....now watching the B's-Canes.....I love this time of year.... I just wish I didn't have to listen to Jack Edwards on NESN...he S U C K S and is such a homer....UGH!!!!

I don't think any have come back when down 3 game to 0, but many have done it 3-1.JustDucky wrote:Tonight is the Hurricanes at the Penguins, game 2. With Detroit up 2-0 over Chicago, if Pittsburgh goes up 2-0 over Carolina the next home 2 games will be interesting to watch. Because once you're down zero to three you're basically done. I can't recall if it has ever happened, a comeback from that.
Detroit just has more depth than Chicago. I didn't expect a sweep. It's looking that way.
Detriot has more expierence then Chicago, they are so much better at passing then the Hawks. I don't think they'll sweep, the Hawks at home should win at least one gameJustDucky wrote:Tonight is the Hurricanes at the Penguins, game 2. There was one or maybe two teams that have done that. I think one time was in th 1940s and it involved either the Rangers, Blackhawks or Leafs. I thought it also happened in the 70s and involved the Islanders. I'll try to find the details because now I'm curious.blackjack wrote:I don't think any have come back when down 3 game to 0, but many have done it 3-1.JustDucky wrote:Tonight is the Hurricanes at the Penguins, game 2. Being a Pens fan, maybe I blacked out the Islanders come back!Hockey Mon wrote:Stanley Cup Finals. 1942.
