We'll see him in a bar before we die. Right after we win the lottery we're hiring him to play in a bar of our choosing. 8)
Girls can dream ... Mac can sit in ... but that's it. Hell, as long as we have THAT kind of money, we'll let JJW and WAR do a couple of songs, too. Then, I could certainly die happy. :D

Hmmm... No answer.... So it looks like, indeed, Just Ducky has become nothing more than a BN troll? Considering that I don't remember seeing a single positive comment from him anywhere on this board in as long as I can remember....

You should live so long. I'M gonna win the lottery so I can afford to go to the DC-area show!

And the winning numbers are ......seven, six, five ... three, seven, nine. Close....so close!

In Denver. Because that's where WAR is these days ... Jimmy likes Aspen ... maybe JJW can be talked into a trip to the mountains, too.

Oh, yeah ... this is an all-girl affair. Just like in the beginning ... when most every female in Dallas was wild about Jimmy, loved JJW's music and fell in love with WAR's dimples and shy smile. [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

It's CRAP. It's As The World Turns or The Guiding Light. "Our" song. Not me. Hell no. Probably the worst song he's ever done. And it's at the beginning of the stadium announcement? How bad can it get? It can always get worse.

Here's how much I listened to that piece of crap - I couldn't tell the difference in the lyrics.

It's Jimmy's ultimate selling out. He's covered it all (except toilet paper) - from those silly shoes to a football stadium and fans - oh wait, 'parrotheads', that are dumb enough to buy all that crap.
One question: If you're so disgusted with the man and his dumb fans, why even hang out here?

I have to agree with Larry on this one. While I have no problem with Jimmy buying into the Dolphins , or putting Landsharks name on the stadium, or any other business venture he sees fit to invest in - the whole press conference/performance thing embarrassed me for some reason. As I said on another thread, I guess I've reached a new level of fandom. Changing the words to Fins was just a bit too cheesy for my taste. And the new version of "Here we Are" didn't do much for me either. That was "our" song, but I guess now there's a new group to make money off of.

Just for the record I'm a hig fan of football, and I'm still a JB fan but this was really crass commercializing and not at all pleasant to watch.

You obviously haven't read all of my posts.

And no answer means, usually, that I'm busy.

As in doing something.

I've said plenty of positive things about Jimmy. I am not the only one that thinks this is strange and 'over the top'. I just happen to be the most honest.

When Jimmy did that awful new song "We're Still Here" last year didn't he tell a story about seeing Neil Young and he called Neil "my good friend?" Didn't Neil write a song back in the '80s about not shilling for corporations? Jimmy should listen to his "good friend."

I wish I could be more optimistic...but I think JustDucky and LIPH are right.

I respect the fact that he's trying to make as much money as he can, but this is how I am beginning to see it.

He is becoming a tropical KISS. KISS is the most marketed brand in all of history. If you don't use KISS condoms you may get an STD and die. Therefore, you can be buried in a KISS Koffin. Not making this up.

I think Gene Simmons and Jimmy Buffett would get along great. Having met Gene, he will look you right in the eyes and tell you he's about the cash. That's it. I respect Mr. Simmons...a lot. He's a brilliant man and very honest.

On the other hand, Mr. Buffett should be honest--look right into the camera and tell everyone that his main motivation in life is cash.

The proof is in the pudding.

That's correct. As far as being a contented Buffett fan...it's best to live and dream the fantasy...ignorance is bliss. As Buffett said on 60 Minutes..."it's just made up."

It's fantasy. Enjoy the fantasy.

The Jimmy Buffett of yesterday with long hair and walrus moustache was antiestablishment. The bald Jimmy Buffett celebrity and socialite IS the establishment.

So what if his main motivation in life is cash? I am happy when he puts out good music and puts on an entertaining show. Part of his motivation here might be that Anheiser Busch is not happy with the sales of the beer and Jimmy is making a move to promote his product.

It doesn't take a marketing genius to figure out how to increase sales of the beer. Make it taste better and don't charge such a rediculously high price for it.

Fortunately, so far, when I'm at the concert and I've been with friends all day, it minimizes the BS and is still just a kick a** good time.

I just watched the "Here We Are" video and had to laugh at the fade from the Dolphins fan to the guys in the grass skirts and coconut bras. I could only imagine if it was the Eagles....you have fans say FU and giving the camara the finger then fade to coconut bras

More power to him.
