At what age do you hear of a death and not think, wow so young?

I tend to think 80-ish, but then, I'm only 62.

I think 80ish assuming the person has done many of the things they wanted to do.

65 is kinda the threshold that I think it's possible. by 74, it's "well, hmmm". by 90 it's, "yep, it was probably time".

the question is: at what age do you start thinking you can/will die sometime?

Profound, ironic question, lost my grandmother earlier today she was 93, spent the last 5 yrs in a nursing home, pretty much bedridden, she watched the love of her life my grandfather pass 18yrs ago and 2 of her children. She lived an incredible life but when she became frail I thought it was time, she had been through enough.

Then's there's Tom he's 91 and I've been shooting pool with him at the Deauville(local pub) every Monday throughout the winter, he's a shark My Dad is 79 and does 9 holes daily, if the sun is up I can find him on the course. I think I'm trying to say you can't put a # on how young is to young as we are only as young as we feel. In their own minds they are young and still have dreams, aspirations along with goals, it's when there's nothing to look forward to tomorrow than you start feeling well at least they had a full life. Sorry about the long rant been drinking most of the evening.

Francis, I'm sorry for the loss of your Grandmother! You are in our thoughts and prayers! I do agree with you, age is only a number, the age of the mind is limitless!

I'm sorry about your grandmother. I lost my grandmother several years ago at 90. Until the last three years of her life she was active and vibrant. She actually visited who she called her old people to check in and make sure they were eating. What actually killed my grandmother was the death of three of her children one after the other of cancer. They didn't tell her when the fourth died but I think she knew something was wrong. She had more people on the other side then here.

That's the age of TWO of my H.S. classmates that have passed in the last few months.
One went "naturally" in his sleep this last week, the other was an Olympic medalist who took his own life in Feb.
