Like the Steelers and Iron City?
The Patriots and Sam Adams?
The Ravens and Natty Bo?

Just to name a few...

both are brewed just miles away from Qualcomm

Honestly, I could careless on the Landshark deal. It is between the Dolphins, Buffett, and InBev (the makers of Landshark since A-B has been taken over). Plus, I don't think fans need to get irked that King didn't really know Buffett. There are a lot of people who don't.

IMO,
I'm not sure if this is a great deal for the Dolphins. It probably won't sell 10K tix a game. However, in a year in which they would probably not attract a "naming rights sponsor" due to the economy, any gain they get is a plus.
I think its a great deal for Jimmy and InBev. They get naming rights to the Stadium that will be hosting the Super Bowl for some old school Sweat Equity. Whether you like LS or not, the co-brand will lead to more exposure/sales. From their side, it's a no-brainer.

I just want to make it clear that I don't care what he said about Buffett, I just truly hate that piece of s***.

But the Landshark name comes down before Super Bowl...
And since when did attendance improve because of the name on the stadium???
Smart move for Jimmy, though - no cash involved, just showing up, even if it does cost us the Fall concerts...

What makes everyone think that Landshark (AB-Inbev) isnt paying to put their name on the stadium like everyone else does? Could this just be a stadium naming rights deal, and nothing more. And possibly part of the deal, was Jimmy playing a short concert at the announcement of the new stadium name? why does everyone think this will effect 'the music' in any way whatsoever. For all we know, Jimmy is already done with committments as far as the stadium naming is concerned.

This article indicates Jimmy didn't pay money but will provide "in kind" services. I doubt InBev would pay cash to promote Jimmy's beer.

I'm thinking this might be a hail mary by Jimmy to save the Landshark label.

"• Dolphin Stadium will sell LandShark beer, as well as other alcohol. Alcohol sales will continue to be cut off at the end of halftime for Dolphins and University of Miami games, except in premium-seat areas. LandShark Lager is brewed by Anheuser-Busch under the Margaritaville Brewing Label."
because folks in premium seat areas can intrinsically handle their liquor better than regular customers..

Ah, I see, thanks for the link
Well now I am picturing Jimmy on the back of a flatbed trailer, being pulled around in the parking lot before games, since the Dolphins version of Fins.

But this isn't "Jimmy's beer." He doesn't brew it, Anheuser Busch, or InBev, or whatever the new corporate name is, brews it. Why wouldn't they pay cash to promote their own beer?

Funny...the AB website doesn't list Landshark among it's nearly 100 brands.
http://www.anheuser-busch.com/BeerVerified.html
And the Landshark Lager site lists Jimmy's MV restaurants and his tour dates.
http://www.landsharklager.com/
And the brewing company is called Margaritaville Brewing Company.
Sounds like this is a private label arrangement with AB, which is why Jimmy is trying so hard to get sales up - he doesn't like to lose...money.

Nick Bouniconti and Jim Kiick's jockstraps are still in the lockerroom. No one has had the heart to touch them. They just walk around.
