We'll see how Jimmy feels about his phans tonight.
Hasn't he had plenty of opportunity to make an announcement. While I do hope he eventually does make said announcement there is something to be said about timing.
Here's how I'd do it:

I know many of the parrothead nation were concerned when dates were removed without any explanation. There are still matters we have to work out before we can make any official statement on the tour schedule. We do understand that some of our fans travel to our shows, so we removed the dates as quickly as we could to avoid additional fans from making travel plans. More to come.
and that's all it would have taken

I wonder if a phone call to those minimum wage earning 16-year old Wal Mart wannabes at Mail Boat Records would yield any answers.

There certainly was no uproar when Jimmy had to abruptly cancel Irvine and Mountain View a few years back... when his ma passed away.
Though many fans were displaced and left with only ticket refunds, we could all certainly respect the reasoning.

What is lacking thus far, in this instance, is any sign of respectable reasoning for the cancellations.
Once (or if) we hear that, we'll just "figure out" how to carry on from there...

Right now you are a small voice.

There's a LOT of people on the west coast that have been screwed over by this. The bastard has lied to the PNW since 2005 about having more shows up here - just like he's lied to Australia. He announced the shows, people made plans and reservations that are non refundable. His fans are owed an explanation - even if he just says "I'm cancelling because of health issues" - they're owed SOMETHING. Right now it's as if he's saying f**** y'all you don't matter.
This IS way over the top. Sorry I read any of it! I'll go back to my little world of enjoying Radio Margaritaville and thank my lucky stars for the positive feelings I get from Jimmy.

What I don't understand is why they announced so many dates so early this year. That was totally unnecessary. Two years ago the west coast had to wait until June or July before they announced Irvine in August, I think. This year they threw out a butt load of dates in February. You can't tell me they didn't have an inkling about the possibility of the Landshark Stadium deal in February. And when a performer cancels with a venue, he's gotta pay someone (unless it's due to a health issue, I would think). He just broke a contract with MGM Grand, the San Diego and Seattle venues and wherever else he was scheduled in October. That's gotta cost a pretty penny. (and yes, I know he's got a few pretty pennies.)

If there was any mention of the canceled dates, I missed it during his pre-concert interview. He did sound a little different and not so sure of himself. I think this whole thing is bothering him in some way, and he's not sure how to handle it and make it all work. He know's there's a lot of Parrotheads upset, and that's got to be unsettling to him right now. He is on the West Coast, and there's probably a pretty decent turnout. Haven't heard about the concert ticket sales for this concert? However, like quite a few have posted, if there was more notice for the cancellations, some of us could have made other plans to attend the Spring Shows instead of the Fall Shows. 8)

From my connections, which I can not reveal, They have not been totally cancelled yet. So just wait like patient people and you will be rewarded if you don't complain.

Is this one of those "Pay No Attention To The Man Behind The Curtain" Wizard of Oz moments. I'm clicking my heals and I'm still not at the October show in San Diego. I heard it's been canceled! If it isn't and your reliable sources are correct, that needs to be announced soon, so we can all Party Margaritaville Style and stop Grumbling! We just have to make sure all the concert venue's a sold out and packed! No Sponge Cake on the Face! [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

I'm not surprised. The longer this goes on, the more I think, "There's much more here than meets the eye, and this is faaaar from a simple situation."

Patience has never been our long suit around here but I suspect if we can just hang on a little longer we might be pleasantly surprised (or at least for some folks, maybe less p*ssed off).

Some of our enterprising PH counsins in Oklahoma decided that maybe there should be a new version of a classic SYKBH ballad. Here is it for your enjoyment....

Come Game Day

Headin’ up to North Miami
For the October Dolphins shows
I got my Landshark hat on
Guess I never was meant for West Coast Parrothead woes
And honey I didn’t know
That shillin’ beer was calling me so

Come game day, it’ll be alright
Come game day, I’ll be selling beer right
I spent four lonely days cancelling Vegas and LA
And I just want to back my new pride.

Yes, it’s been quite a schooling
Naming stadiums without cash drains
And now I’m lovin’ the Dophins
Something I don’t have to explain
And phanbase, since you love me so
I can do this and you still won’t go

Come game day, it’ll be alright
Come game day, I’ll be selling beer right
I spent four lonely days cancelling Vegas and LA
And I just want to back my new pride.

I can’t help it, Parrotheads
Profits that much a part of me now
Remember that song about money
When I said there be no room for doubt

I hope you’re enjoying your free time
I know that my musics out there
And you can buy more tunes tomorrow
For me you’d shop anywhere
California has worn me quite thin
It’s so good to be in Landshark Stadium again

Correction...it was apparently penned out west by anonymous authors. The OK folks simply circulated it.

Still...pretty clever.

I think you may be giving him a tad too much credit, I'd be shocked if a group of unhappy fans on a website affected him to that extent. Having said that, there may be a lot going on around the changes that he's stressed out about. Sounds like he may be trying to fit 10 pounds of sand into a 5 pound bag right now, hence the cancellations so stuff can be shifted around.

Speculations, accusations,
what's the freakin' point?
I think some need a chill pill,
or perhaps to smoke a joint!

Blaming people, pointing fingers,
with your undies in a bunch,
and all your rage and fury,
based on nothing but a hunch.

Give it time, go outside,
breathe some fresh clean air.
Wait to see what happens,
then sort it out from there.

There's many factors, many people,
many details to sort through.
It is what it is; what happens, happens,
there's nothing you can do.

yeah, clumsiness without reason tends to look bad. as for disliking clumsy folks, that's something you're going to have to deal with in your personal life.
