Definitely hotel first but go for the refundable rate even if it is a bit more expensive.

don't know, we'll see. Still planning on Frisco and on Cinci, there are obligations even if we don't buy tickets for the concert.

Maybe I'll retire from Buffett like I finally retired from softball.

Re: Whatcha gonna do next year when dates are announced?
We will buy tickets for the show or shows we want. Then go and have a good time. No matter what the set list is we have and will always have a good time. There is no reason for it to be otherwise. Jimmy and the CRB will be singing and we'll be around our BN phriends. Personally we couldn't ask for a nicer evening.
You know, just thinking about it now we are already looking forward to next year and this year is still new.

What we won't do is expect any negatives next year.
We won't make any in depth plans or make reservations (that we can't get a refund for) for dates that are not confirmed and for which tickets have not gone on sale for.
We will simply look forward to next tour season with a positive attitude.
I know that isn't the opinion shared by everyone but that is ours.

Re: Whatcha gonna do next year when dates are announced?
I'll do the same thing I did this year. Hope he's not coming to St. Louis so I won't be tempted to buy tickets. I wasn't going to go to any shows last year until he scheduled St. Louis and I couldn't miss him 15 miles from my house.
We always take our sons with us, so it's getting to be close to $700 for tickets. It's just more than I want to pay right now. But if he does come to St. Louis, I'll give it some hard thought.

If enough people bail, I might finally move up the TicketMaster pecking order. But probably not.

Well, you did have front row center seats, not going to get much better than that.

Same thing as every year. Figure out what I can afford (with 2 kids in college next year, not much). Make hotel reservations. Buy tickets. See if work allows me to go. Buy airline tickets (although I doubt that will come into play next year). Have fun.

Honest??
I will probably get tix for Frisco.. and one more show..
my travels have become more about my BN Pirate crew
and less about the show.. my Goal this year was to go to more
in a year than I had done prior.. (3 prior) (5 this year)
I doubt I make MOTM but I plan on more Phlockings next year..

Same thing I do every year...
Buy tickets to the shows I like, book hotels and airfare.
Wait for dates to obscure places...then buy tickets and hotels and airfare for them, too.
Then, after all that, and missing Jimmy too much, find out where my friends are and buy tickets for those shows in between.
AND I will definitely be at LandShark Stadium next year. WooooooooooooooHooooooooooooooooo.

Read them and say 'Oh, look, he's not playing in New Orleans anywhere again' so I'll save my money.

Re: Whatcha gonna do next year when dates are announced?
I understand what you are talking about. The other night in Concord we experienced the same thing. We were up dancing and security came and told us to sit down. I told him we paid for these tickets and we are at a Buffett show. I asked him to move us a couple of rows and he refused. We stayed where we were and danced. Screw all thoses people that want to sit on their butts.
I am very upset about LV. I go every year to both shows. This year I had made plans to meet friends. I guess I will take the $1,000 saved and head to Mexico.

My wife and I were the ONLY ones standing and dancing. I told the people around me "24 shows and I aint sat at one yet, aint gonna start now"...What a bunch of chumps. We ended up moving a whole section back after being invited up there after they watched us go rounds with the sitters and security. Then we got crazy with the real fans (yep I said REAL fans)!!!!I'm sorry but I have to disagree - when the man himself puts out a youtube or google earth announcing shows then they are confirmed dates - otherwise he's just a liar and playing with people because he can.
Thats what happens when casinos give tix away to people just for gambling with them....

Re: Whatcha gonna do next year when dates are announced?
Why doesn't Jimmy step up to the plate and do a press release and tell his fans what the hell is going on. I still do not understand why he cancelled the entire month of October. I can see cancelling one weekend in LV but why both. When he is in town playing Margaritaville has to make four times plus the revenue of a regular weekend, and from experience the store sells out of everything. The shelves are bare by Sunday. Besides the money he is making on ticket sales he is making millions over he weekend on food, booze and tee shirts.
