Yep, pretty cool. I actually bought a surfboard strap from the folks at action straps a few weeks ago. I spoke back and forth with Terry, the owner, about Jimmy's straps that he makes. He had some very awesome stories. He also sent me some prototype pictures of the Summerzcool strap while it was still in the making, which I also thought was very cool.

See below for a picture of my strap. This picture was taken before he sent it out to me. Some people say they are expnsive, but I think that word is relative and subjective. The Action Straps are the best out there and are made of the highest quality materials. A lot of time and care is put into their products and they treat every customer as if they are Jimmy Buffett, or any of the other many celebrities that wear their straps. They are a small, family-owned company based out of Indiana and they take a lot of pride in what they do. Plus, they can do pretty much anything you want for a custom strap.

Beautiful straps.

but not to go on a $300 guitar. I'll stick with my Planet Waves.

Not that I don't think my guitar deserves it.....only that for another 150 or so I can get the reverb tank I'm wanting.

I'm quite a fan of this one from Jodi Head as well.

I wouldn't mind having a custom one made someday....just can't afford it right now.

Yeah, I was afraid it was about Buffett's jock strap.

$350-400 for a guitar strap? No one thinks that's more than a little pricey?

Not pricey at all considering the quality. They are CUSTOM, hand-made guitar straps.

Nothing like slapping one of those beauties on a Martin guitar. Perfect combination!

Terry at Action is GREAT! His straps make perfect gifts, too. And he also makes beautiful camera straps!
Give him a try, you won't be disappointed! :D

Totally agree. There are plenty of them that he sells for under $200; they just aren't custom. But they are very nice and get the same level of attention and detail.

Michelle, do you have one as well? You're right! The surfboard strap looks killer on my Martins.

YES! I have a few. I have the Pirate Looks at 40 Strap and also the Year of Still Here strap to name a couple.
I also have a camera strap that I LOVE. It has taken very much abuse over the last year and still looks great! :D :D

I like Jimmy's straps and I can only imagine the type of quality they are, however I am not able to afford one. I recently have purchased 2 straps from http://souldier.us/index.html

They are handmade from recycled seat belts and other materials. A great price ($40) and in the packaging was a hand written note expressing their thanks. Not something you see all the time....I absolutely love both of mine!!

Here is my parrotheadish (is that a word??) strap

(only difference is mine has a navy end tab)

Heck...I paid less than that for my second guitar, let alone the strap.

The Action straps are lovely, and probably worth the money. But until I either win the Lottery, marry a rich woman, or write a hit song, I'm not likely to be able to afford one.

[smilie=superkewl.gif] on the Pirate Strap. I love that one as well. Too bad he won't make anymore pirate or surfboard straps. He said they were some of the most complicated and painful straps he has done. And, once I got it and was able to see it up close, I can understand why. They are so intriquite and detailed.

Thanks for posting. This is very similar to something a friend of mine has been looking for. Nice strap!
