I'm most of the way through the series.

While Cedar Key really has little to do with Travis McGee, I'm guessing that the last book may end up with him there. Since there were no more books, that's where he "still is". I'll find out when I get to it.

Great song, Very good album. That was my "make or break" Buffett album. I wasn't thrilled with Volcano, and I thought I'd give him one more chance. I had to listen to it several times, but it did the trick. I 've bought them all since.
As for McGee, I don't think he ever spent much time in Cedar Key, if any. I seem to remember a mention of it (maybe in "the Empty Copper Sea") but that's about it. No reason not to read the entire series multiple times though.

by which particular harbor?
well isn't that a heck of a note. Here it is 10:01 pm, about my bedtime and you got me wanting to hear that song. That whole album is great to me too. I love "growing older but not up" and "The weather is here"...and stars...and, well, you get the picture.

On a tangential note, Dean Koontz calls John D. MacDonald "...the brilliant novelist whose work most influenced mine when I was young."
