Funny, my wife and I were just talking about you the other day. Last week during the concert from London, I was again mention that you brought your infant to the show, and he/she (sorry I forget) seemed to be perfectly happy. though, my son is just over a month old right now. Going to the show is the least of the issues, I think at this point a 6 hour plane ride to Europe would be quite an adventure. We were the crazy folks that had our baby at last year's Paris show and again at the London show last weekend. It was much easier with an infant than our rowdy toddler, but he was a trooper in London by sleeping through all by "He Went to Paris". We used our Ergo baby carrier and giant noise-canceling headphones again this year but instead of baby food, we had a small bag of cheese, crackers, and bananas for tailgating! Despite being called "hideously irresponsible", we're booking our train tix and hotel for Paris (thanks to a fellow Parrothead offering us his two extra tix for face value)! See you all in Paris!
Coward, If you move nearer where you're going the plane journey is shorter. You get to know things like that as you get older!labatt1876 wrote:Funny, my wife and I were just talking about you the other day. I didn't get an e-mail confirmation for one of my tickets. I do have the order number printed out. I did send 2 e-mails to gdp.fr regarding the confirmation. I have not heard from them.London Daydreaming wrote:I bought my tickets for Paris yesterday, but still no confirmation e-mail. Have others exerienced the same issue? The registration process only takes your e-mail address once, so it is possible I typed it incorrectly.
I love the way they give you a row and place number for the upright (standing) tickets. Who said the French aren't organised?

Planning is all part of the fun.....conched wrote:Wow, it's really confusing trying to select a hotel. I have gone to all those mentioned here like Cordelia near the Opera, Hotel Ibis Sacre Coeur right by La Cigale, Hotel Gran de Turin, near La Cigale, etc. I even checked out the Golden Tulip Opera De Noailles LIPH mentioned when "He went to Paris."
Tripadvisor.com had a bunch about Hotel Carlton's. Anyone have any comments to help? We are just two older girls looking to see Jimmy and be tourists and stay safe.
Everything looks so interesting!![]()

Paris is a beautiful and confusing city but so easy to get to know, so a few questions before I offer some opinions:
How long are you planning to stay? This effects where you need a hotel
We are arriving on Friday morning and leaving Tuesday morning, so that only gives us most of 4 days for sightseeing, etc.
Do you speak french?
We do not speak french, and LIPH says the hotel where he stayed spoke English and that was a big help in planning the day and getting instructions on traveling in the city.
Is this a first trip? If so you need to be in easy access of the main tourist sites
Are you arriving at CDG airport? First trip and arriving CDG and would like to take the bus to Opera, which I understand is the Roissybus....
La Cigale is actually a good location as the buses to and from the area are fast, cheap and frequent but it is a little 'seedy' at night. In saying that I have never once felt unsafe.
Not familiar with the Hotel Carlton - I will check out the location
So glad to hear you found your e-mail! Thanks for the suggestion but I still couldn't find it. I think I will be ok as my confirmation number from the website says the same thing as the e-mail.London Daydreaming wrote:Karacal wrote:I didn't get an e-mail confirmation for one of my tickets. Thanks for your reply, it made me feel more comfortable until I found the e-mail in my spam folder. Very rarely do I get anything go in there, but this did, so worth a look if you haven't already.
I can look forward to the show now.
Cheers.
