I got a reply back to my lovely email I sent them. Their reply was:
Thank you for allowing us to be of service to you.
I hate Ticketmaster so much. I have just never heard a company sell someone something then say, Hey we are taking it back. You can't just do that. Looking back I think I should have fought it, but with TM I dont think I would have gotten anywhere.

I know I won't get any satisfaction w/Ticketeffer, but I will send some emails. This is not right!
hhhmmmmmm Bruce tix go on sale Monday, maybe if I say if they sell me some super seats, without fees, of course. I won't sue them....
For those of you who got screwed, I'd file a complaint online with the Better Business Bureau. It appears that they often respond to these as they have a "B" rating and almost half their complaints were resolved by "Agreeing to perform according to their contract "

Well here is a suggestion for anyone who used the print at home option when purchasing their pit seats that are not good for entry. If you were upgrading, still use your original tickets to gain admission to the venue then use your printed e-tickets once inside the venue to sit in those seats. Who knows, you might get lucky and the usher allows the first person sitting in those seats to stay. At the very least, those e-tickets should give you a free pass to access any inside section. This would also work if TM has already sent out those pit seat tickets. If you get booted just go back to using your original tickets.
YMMV and use this technique at your own risk .

hhhmmmmm not at bad point but then someone who paid for seats still gets screwed by TM!!!

One more observation. When the pit seats were made available earlier this week, I also checked other sections for availability as well. I remember pulling up seats in section 202 (probably the same ones they are making available as replacement tickets) and also section 102 row c. When you call them, you might argue for seats in section 102 instead of 202. Tell them you know there are seats available in that section and those would be more comparible to pit seats than back of the venue section 202 row j.
Once again YMMV and it probably won't work, but it might be worth a try.

I'm filing a complaint with the DIvision of Consumer Affairs in NJ. They are already being investigated here because of the Bruce Springsteen ticket problems.
I'm going to cancel the tickets they are holding - not going to the show at all.
I don't understand how they can sell you something and then take it back!
You know, after reading this thread, I have a question. How much were these tickets anyway? If they were a lot higher than the "normal" tickets, it could be that they are testing out the market to see how much people are willing to pay for seats. If people are willing to pay more, then next year, the prices will skyrocket. I'm not saying that this is right, just putting an idea out there. IF what I said was true, then they COULD have just sent an email to those who bought the tickets online (they do have your emails) asking about how much everyone is willing to pay.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

They were the same price as any inside seat.

The ticket prices were the same as any "seat". Lawn were 100 less. Has anyone ever gotten a pit ticket through normal means? Meaning not through an "agency" or "broker"?
Sounds like a nice bait and switch to me, "sorry we can't sell you the tickets you actually purchased but here are some we couldn't get rid of."
I have been wondering about the seats that were released by mistake. They weren't just pit seats, I saw seats in all areas of the venue available. Are these seats that were supposed to be set aside for the band or the promoter? Were they seats set aside for vip members of the venue? And obviously these seats are not sold yet, what or who are they being saved for? And last, I wonder if someone got fired for making them available .

I was thinking the same thing myself. I keep looking on Ticketsnow & Stubhub to see if the tix I ordered show up there...

Yes. I got one Pit seat for the Thursday show on the onsale day. Just pure luck. And then I was able to find the two seats next to it from someone who won them on the radio and I bought them because they could not go.
