Got my tickets. This is going to be a hell of a concert. Might be a little different tailgating in the cold but hey, thats what alcohol is for. Can't wait to see everyone there.

Yea what's up with that.....parking 1.5 hours prior to show.....I guess we will do shots of Margaritaville Gold....rather than drinking Landshark.

(I'm the one in my groug that they are blaming for bringing the Teqiuia to Bristow) I doubt that Idea will go over well for Charlottesville.)

Let just drink and be merry. People got sick because of the shots!! Can you belive that? It's truly heartbreaking. I'd say the plan here should be maybe just some fall beer...or some fast drinking landshark....hell I don't know what to tell 'em Just please be happy. It's nearing the holiday season. Drink and be merry!!

They always say that because the lots by JPJ and UHall are student lots. They let people in all day for Grateful Dead last year, and we parked about 3-4 hours before the show for DMB last year.

Be warned, however - I've been to about 12 concerts at JPJ, and the only time I ever saw beer for sale at a concert was DMB. We were sorely disappointed at our first JPJ show a few years ago.

Unfortuntely - yes, tailgating has always been a problem for JPJ concerts.

Most of the lots surrounding JPJ are for employees of UVA....and since this concert is on a Tuedsay night - it doesn't help matters, as employees need to get to their vehicles and leave the lots. From what I've seen in the past, they normally try to have employees out of the lots by 5pm on the day of concerts....

Beer is available at every concert now - when JPJ first opened, there was no beer available but that has now changed....

I am not going to this show, boo hiss, but I have another agenda for posting here. On October 17 of this year, a 20 year old VT student was last seen walking away from the arena during a Metallica concert. As of this writing, she has been missing for 16 days. Please do not jump to conclusions based on the band, the girl's age, etc. Please read up on this story at http://www.findmorgan.com. 20 year old Morgan Harrington went to the concert with friends, left to go to the bathroom, somehow wound up outside, and was not allowed to re-enter. Morgan was confirmed to have talked to several people and groups of people after she called her her friends to tell them she couldn't get back in. Morgan told her friends that she would find a ride home; she never made it. Personal belongings (her cell phone minus the battery, and her purse) were found in the RV/overflow lot near Lannigan field. The last confirmed sighting of this beautiful young lady was on the Copeley St. Bridge, which is only several hundred yards from JPJ Arena. My agenda for posting here is two-fold. 1) If you are going the Buffett show, BE CAREFUL, ladies especially. 2) Please consider printing some of the "missing" posters from http://www.findmorgan.com and post them on your vehicle, heck, you could even hand them out with jello shots or whatever, it will help to spread the word, and may help to get some answers. If anyone ever could ever use some phin power, it is Morgan Harrington.

I want to do some good tailgating before the show (weather permitting), but we need to plan a babysitter. I've only been to one show at JPJ (George Strait) and we did not tailgating -- and beer was not for sale.

So y'all think we're safe getting there about 4 or 5 to start tailgating?

Loads of seats left for this concert. Who would have thought......Jimmy has a concert and hardly anyone comes to it...... People have been trying to sell me their tix for half of what they paid. I don't have the money or time right now. Told them to post them in the tix exchange but JPJ arena still has really good seats (for a venue with a little over 14,500).

Here's hoping all BNers going get awesome seat upgrades!!!!!

A bunch of people are going to Cheesburger in Paradise before the concert. My office is very close to St Maartens on the Corner/University Avenue so that's where I'll be tomorrow afternoon. Very cool pre-Cheeseburger In Paradise place that is locally owned. Nothing fancy-- just a bar with some fish on the walls.

Just want all yall to know that JPJ is a helluva nice place (and Charlottesville too) and they DO serve beer and they WILL let you into the parking lot and that bad people are everywhere.

I'm takin my tiki bar outta here.
