After all is said and done there's an easy fix for this next year, and any manager or businessman has used this term extensively. Just print in large bold letters TENTATIVE above questionable dates. End of problem.

Actually, I bet we go back to the way it was in previous years....no shows will be announced until a few months before the actual date and tickets will go on sale less than a week after the announcement.palmettopirate wrote:After all is said and done there's an easy fix for this next year, and any manager or businessman has used this term extensively. You can't announce shows 8-10 months in advance and not expect to have changes happen from time to time.
I just hope people don't complain when this happens next year....because the reaction in the last month have left Jimmy (and his management team) with no other choice.

You would think, right? I kinda think we might see that lingo next time. If we don't, I will be compelled to once again email my new phriends in the empire. Although I doubt they consider me a phriend (although to be fair, our conversations probably helped a tiny bit for them to see I really am not a witch with a capital "B"), I am pretty sure they will remember me. It's ok with me if they don't specify exactly what they remember!!!palmettopirate wrote:After all is said and done there's an easy fix for this next year, and any manager or businessman has used this term extensively. no.. there is another one: sign the contracts and announce the dates. If MLB/NHL/NBA/NFL can create a schedule 8-10 months in advance, I am sure Jimmy could too. And again: he was not out of the loop on this one. Send the manager out out as the fall guy... just like Tampa a couple years back.

MLB/NHL/NBA/NFL teams either own their stadiums or have contracts in place with them. They also place tickets on sale for all games shortly after schedules are announced.RinglingRingling wrote:Actually, I bet we go back to the way it was in previous years....no shows will be announced until a few months before the actual date and tickets will go on sale less than a week after the announcement.dean_siu wrote:palmettopirate wrote:After all is said and done there's an easy fix for this next year, and any manager or businessman has used this term extensively. This year's actions for Jimmy's tour had no contracts in place and no tickets on sale. Tentative plans for the whole year were announced though, because that's what the fan base what asking for to happen.
Contracts for shows typically aren't signed til near the time tickets go on sale and what happened in this case is anyone's guess. I honestly don't think we'll ever have public knowledge as to why these contracts didn't materialize.
However, I honestly don't expect to see any tenative dates at all for the near future and shows will follow the sports model you discussed....contracts will be in place and ticket sales will be planned before they are announced.

I would love to see Jimmy play at the beach at Mandalay Bay, I have seen a show there before, and it would be such a fantastic venue for a Buffett show. Not sure how many it holds, clearly not as many as an arena, but it would be sooooo much fun hanging out on the 'beach' watching the show

I saw Ziggy Marley play there, and there's nothing better than standing in the water listening to great music with a beer in your hand.

Just hope there is common sense when next years schedule comes out and I would only THINK...YES you have to plan in advance for shows! There are other great bands out there other than bubba!

Perhaps, they will rethink the idea of posting the whole tour schedule at once?karat wrote:Just hope there is common sense when next years schedule comes out and I would only THINK...YES you have to plan in advance for shows! There are other great bands out there other than bubba!
I think they may sell more tickets if they release dates little by little...

With the latest news about the Orlando date, apparently they didn't learn a whole lot from this episode.
