Hi all - new member, longtime lurker on these boards. I saw this editorial in my local newspaper last Friday, and thought I would post a link to it here. It is a message to the local high school Class of 2009, from a member of the Class of 1989, that references life lessons the author has learned from lyrics to Jimmy Buffett songs. I hope the graduates read the piece and heed the advice..

Great writing and excellent advice for graduates. We sent this article along to our youngest 'keet who just recently graduated from University of Central Florida.

Now you've got a pretty good idea why I use the lyric I do as my sig line. It wasn't an easy choice either, as the article showed that there are a lot of Bubba's lines that can reflect or help explain life pretty well.

But that's the way it is. After the music is over, after the band has packed up and gone on, after the party has wound down, and you're left sitting there in the fallout, debris, and shambles, think back on some of the words of the songs. Pour yourself one last drink and sip it down, don't slam it, this time. Take a minute or two to reflect back on what you heard.

There are nuggets out there, and they're free for the finding. All you need to do is take the time to look for 'em.
