As Carl Sagan and other astronomers/scientists/sci-fi writers have said, in one form or another —
When you consider how many
billions and
billions of stars there are in the Galaxy; then consider how many galaxies there are in the universe
(and these are just the ones we *know* about), it is the height of hubris to presume that this one little planet in this one little solar system in this one little corner of this one little galaxy is the
only one that has been able to develop and sustain intelligent life.
Now I'm not saying that we can expect to see living, breathing Klingons or Vulcans any day soon. Intelligent life on other planets may take entirely different forms

— just look at the variations on our planet alone! I'm just convinced that we are not alone in the universe.
And probably the surest sign that any alien lifeforms out there are indeed intelligent is that they have managed to avoid contaminating themselves by contact with us!!
