Sad news.
I wish some enterprising cable channel would buy the rights to show old "Tonight Show" episodes, much as E! used to do with Letterman reruns.

You got that right. The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson used to be must see TV each night for me - at the very least the monologue every night. The show used to be 90 minutes too. Late night TV hasn't been the same. Leno and Letterman just never filled the gap after Johnny left.

my sentiments, too. Just couldn't shut down until I'd at least heard/saw the monologue.
