Tales from margaritaville

I just read the book and I was wondering what the book says to you. I felt as though it was saying to me follow your heart no matter where it may take you , and enjoy the ride while you can.

I'm about to reread it. I read it 10-15 years ago, before I knew much about JB, certainly before I'd even heard of PHism....
Looking forward to my second trip through it.

Haven't thought about it that deeply. It did say to me "Go buy Salty Piece of Land". I loved that book!!!!!!!!!

In regards to Snowparrots response.... I'm actually re-reading Pirate looks at 50 now. I did not enjoy it all a few years ago. Now that I'm more into JB... I'm enjoying it very much this go-round.

Please be careful if you are going to read this book! We think it can be very dangerous.

About fourteen years ago we picked up a used copy of "Tales" in a bookstore near our home in San Francisco. After reading the book we went out and got the BBBB Boxed Set. We had never really been big JB fans before. Now we were hooked. All the CDs. All the books as they came out. Concerts. Then traveling to all the places Jimmy wrote and sang about (the Keys, New Orleans, the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii). Then the ultimate...we ran away from home to live on the shores of the Caribbean Sea! This little book was the spark that changed our lives. Whenever anybody asks "How did you end up down here?" we always say, "Blame it on Buffett!"
So be careful. :D

For those who love "Tales" we have a list of similar books about running away to the tropics on our blog at http://playazone.wordpress.com/2008/06/ ... adventure/

I loved the book and it is great to follow it with "A salty piece of land" (Love that book). I frequently dream about selling everything and moving to the Caribbean. Who knows...maybe one day...

I love this book...granted I'll never run away to the Carribean or anywhere else. He's a great painter of words. "Take Another Road" is still my favorite, and it is great to follow it up with A Salty Piece of Land
