Lenght of a PM

For the past couple days, when I write a PM, (some of mine can be novellas  ) I get to a certain point and the pm screen starts jumping from the last letter I type up to the beginning of my pm for every letter I type and you don't get to see the line you're typing on  ...........it's sooooooooo annoying!

Does this happen to anyone else?

Is there a word count limit to PM's?

Or do you think it could be because someone in this house upgraded to internet explorer 8.0 or some such nonsense :-?

:x

Thanks for any input, M :)

Mo writes long PMs? Who knew? :o

Yeah Mo, there is a character limit. Just looked and this is what it says on the left side of the message box when you compose a PM:
Message body:
Enter your message here, it may contain no more than 60000 characters.
Don't think there is a character countdown tho...that's kind of a bummer. So maybe your jumpy screen *is* the clue that you're getting too close.

:)

In Mo's case...I think the "jumpy screen" means that "Hey, you've lost their interest already, try to keep it to about 300 characters"

If I'm gonna put some time into a PM or post, I usually key it in MS Word and then copy and paste it. I've lost too many long posts to the error message screen in the past. And Word has a character count function, so you'll know if you need to paste it into one or two (or more  ) PM's.

I see your spelling hasn't improved any.

I've experienced the same phenomenon. I think it started right after the last board update/upgrade. It seems to be related more to the number of lines than the number of characters. You can keep on typing, but everything is below the bottom of the message window. Which makes it kinda difficult to proofread your work.

Serious question? Yes it was very serious, you know how I love to write those long PM's that you stop reading after 3 lines.

cout is an object of class ostream that represents the standard output stream. It corresponds to the cstdio stream stdout.

By default, most systems have their standard output set to the console, where text messages are shown, although this can generally be redirected.

Because cout is an object of class ostream, we can write characters to it either as formatted data using for example the insertion operator (ostream::operator<<) or as unformatted data using the write member function, among others (see ostream).
