My go-to recipe for church picnics, family gatherings and the usual dish-to-pass assemblies. It's really easy and quick to make, and people seem to like the flavors. Bonus points for being very easy to make.
Sesame Noodles
(Adapted from a Martha Stewart recipe. Thanks, Martha)
1 pound linguine, cooked, drained, and rinsed in cold water to cool. Break noodles into 1/3rds or 1/2s for easier serving.
Mix together:
1/4 cup sesame oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 Tablespoon red wine vinegar
1 1/2 Tablespoon sugar
1 Tablespoon coarse kosher or sea salt
1 Tablespoon HOt Pepper/Chili Oil
Pour the mixture over the noodles and stir to combine. Refridgerate several hours or overnight before serving. Be sure to stir before serving to distribute the flavors.
For Add-ons (optional):
Sesame seeds- mixed in or just on top.
Scallions- sliced
Cut red or green peppers
Or any fun veggies you like. I put garlic scapes in the last time I made it, nice kick.
Can be served chilled or room temp.
This is a huge, party size batch. In fact, I find it hard to find a bowl to fit it in. I usually halve the recipe for smaller gatherings and still have leftovers.
Beware the power of a pound of pasta!!
Hope this finds its way to a few parties this weekend
