Hey Bob, we are coming up to Knoxville again this year for the game on Halloween!!
Maybe I'll have to make a 2nd roadtrip & come down & mediate between you 2. :pirate:
  Me and Bob get along when talking football. But you should make the trip to Knoxville for the Halloween weekend. We have always have a blast up there, and the past few years most of the games between the teams have been pretty close.

That's what you'll get from sports radio. You'll see a lot of bandwagoners jump on board this year because they know it's supposed to be a good season. Coach Meyer is a good, sorry, great enough coach to keep this team motivated for every game.

And the leadership on this team is unprecedented. With Tebow leading the offense and Spikes and Stamper leading the defense, you've got three proven Seniors to keep the underclassmen in check. Two out of those three could have left for the NFL, but they came back to do something that no other Florida team has accomplished - go undefeated.

I'm not saying they will. Crazy things do happen and injuries are a part of sports. But, I've never seen a Gator team as stacked and as deep as this team. The SEC Championship is the goal. If an undefeated season goes along with that, they will be back in the BCS Championship game.

And you will never hear anyone on any sports radio/tv admit when they were wrong about a team.

Cool! Rumors are still swirling that UT is going to come out in all black uniforms. I doubt it, but the rumors will be there until gameday. I'm looking forward to see how we both do this year. Go Vols!
Does Kiffin think he is still coaching the Raiders? What your feeling on the not seeing the Vols in orange at home?

I will be there as well.

Herbstreit did when he said Michigan should go to the BCS Championship over Florida. He was wrong and he admitted it.

I'm guessing he only needs 1 credit to graduate, or he already has enough credits? Because other than that, I thought you had to be a full-time student (12 credits) to play? The article didn't really explain it.

Time to represent the MAC.... :D

Tebow enrolled as an early-entree freshman. He also took summer classes, which leads to him graduating a semester early. Add this to two National Championships, a Heisman trophy, countless awards, and the missionary work he continues to do. Yea, I'd say this should be seen as an accomplishment. He came back for his Senior year and will be graduating with a high GPA from a top university.

And here are the rules regarding being full-time if you'd like to read it. This comes from UNC.

Well, the idea didn't originate with Kiffin. There has been pressure on the basketball team for the last couple of years from fans to have a blackout. Pearl actually ordered black uniforms last year, but they never wore them. Students and younger fans really want to see it and see the fan bases of teams like Cincinnati and Georgia energized for games when they do it. Your old-timers and traditionalists argue that the official school colors are Orange and White and nothing else should be worn. Being only 28 years old but a lifetime fan, I am somewhere in between. The Lady Vols have been wearing baby blue on their uniforms for as long as I can remember. The baseball team has worn black forever Image, so the argument that it could not be used because it is not official doesn't really matter that much to me. The team actually wore black jerseys when they first started playing football before the turn of the century...

So, there is some argument that it does have historical significance. As for me, I have mixed feelings. I definately want the home uniform to have as much orange on it as possible. However, I also see the benefit that wearing the black uniforms once every few years would have as far as firing the fan base up even further. I wouldn't care if they wore hot pink if it helped them win games. We need all the help we can get around here lately, but you all know that. Fact is...the students want it, the coaching staff wants it, and the players want it. The only thing holding them up at this point is the AD and boosters. It will be interesting to see who has final say in this one.

Just for sh*ts and giggles...

When I think of UT, I think of the bright orange jerseys and the orange and white checker board endzones. It would be hard for me to see them come out wearing black uniforms when like you said black is nowhere in their color scheme. I just dont think it would look good.

Same here. When UGA and Cincy did blackouts, it made sense because black is in their team color scheme. I hear the word Vols, I think orange.

from the Aggie board....

How many SEC people does it take to change a lightbulb?

At VANDERBILT: it takes two, one to change the bulb and one more to explain how they did it every bit as good as the bulbs changed at Harvard.

At GEORGIA: it takes two, one to change the bulb and one to phone an engineer at Georgia Tech for instructions.

At FLORIDA: it takes four, one to screw in the bulb and three to figure out how to get stoned off the old one.

At ALABAMA: it takes five, one to change it, three to reminisce about how The Bear would have done it, and one to throw the old bulb at an NCAA investigator.

At OLE MISS: it takes six, one to change it, two to mix the drinks and three to find the perfect J. Crew outfit to wear for the occasion.

At LSU: it takes seven, and each one gets credit for five Semester hours.

At KENTUCKY: it takes eight, one to screw it in and seven to discuss how much brighter it seems to shine during basketball season.

At TENNESSEE: it takes ten, two to figure out how to screw it in, two to buy an orange lampshade, and six to phone a radio call-in show and talk about how much they hate Alabama.

At MISSISSIPPI STATE: it takes fifteen, one to screw in the bulb, two to buy the Skoal, and twelve to yell, "GO TO HELL, OLE MISS".

At AUBURN: it takes one hundred, one to change it, forty-nine to talk about how they did it better than at Bama, and fifty to get drunk and roll Toomer's Corner when finished.

At SOUTH CAROLINA: it takes 80,000, one to screw it in and 79,999 to discuss how this finally will be the year that they have a decent football team.

At ARKANSAS: None. There is no electricity in Arkansas.
