How about Hot Fun in the Summertime? I think that would be fun with a tropical spin on it.
And it would be a blast with the crowd singing along.

Yes it has, and not to digress too much, but poor Farah Fawcett was given the "leftover" time slots as a tribute to her life. She may not have been the King of Pop, but she was a very good person who did a lot of good things. She never played "good touch, bad touch" with Macaulay Culkin or other little kids.Frank4 wrote:Amen to that. And what about Billy Mays (sorry, but I love the guy)? Not nearly the celebrity as the aforementioned, but still a household name. He got a clip in the WSJ and a Discovery Channel "Pitchmen" marathon in his honor.
Michael passed; he one of the most influential music legends of all times. But, it's time to move on.

I have to admit, I'll miss Billy Mays also. I wonder if the person that gave the eulogy shouted into the microphone like Billy would have....=)

OK, it took me 5 minutes to stop laughing enough to reply to this post....but Garry's right.....I didn't like it listening to the shows on RM, but listening to it live was a whole other experience. You could tell Jimmy and the band were having fun doing it and the groove was infectious.....I actually really liked it both shows we saw.HD18JBGuy wrote:OK, but I am putting a lot of trust in you. So far, it sounds and smells like a terd squeezing its way through my headphones. About 1/4 of the songs in this year's setlist are already cover songs...he doesn't need another.
How about another "Jimmy Buffett" song, or do we need to start calling it the Jimmy Buffett/CSNY/Steve Goodman/Beetles/Van Morrison/Jesse Winchester/Rodney Crowell/John Prine/Gordon Lightfoot/Warren Zevon/John Hiatt/Emmy Lou Harris/Jerry Garcia/Bruce Springstein/Alan Jackson/Fred Neil/Johnny Cash/Dave Matthews/Jack Johnson/Michael Jackson concert?
Did I miss any? I am sure I have only touched the tip of the iceberg.
I would however take any Michael Jackson song over "Yellow Submarine".![]()
Wait 'til you hear Y.S. live.
You'll enjoy it.

Re: Which MJ song should Jimmy cover this tour?
Now, the song I envision him doing is a MJ song that was redone by W.A.Y. ..I could see it now, he comes out on stage in a black suit, silver buttons, and all of a sudden starts blowing up like a balloon.. "You ain't fat, you ain't fat, YOU AIN'T NOTHING!" I think he should cover Weird Al's take on "Bad"..or, "Fat" as Weird Al did.

I am SO over the whole MJ thing. And if it makes someone mad, I could care less at this point!!!!!
Re: Which MJ song should Jimmy cover this tour?
Not even funny. JB should NOT cover anything by Whacko PERIOD.
Why would he? Because he died? Nobody gave a s*** about Whacko while he was alive musically for the past 15 years or whatever. All of the sudden everyone says they love him. He hadn't done anything for eons, he most likely would not have played even HALF the 50 shows at the O2, he was more famous for being weird and famous than he was for his talent for the past 20 years or whatever.
Plenty of other musicians die. Why not do a song from all of 'em? JB does the songs of a friend of his that died - Steve Goodman. He's done some Beatles...whatever else. But Michael Jackson?
No thanks.
