Why would he? Because he died? Nobody gave a s*** about Whacko while he was alive musically for the past 15 years or whatever. All of the sudden everyone says they love him. He hadn't done anything for eons, he most likely would not have played even HALF the 50 shows at the O2, he was more famous for being weird and famous than he was for his talent for the past 20 years or whatever.

Plenty of other musicians die. Why not do a song from all of 'em? JB does the songs of a friend of his that died - Steve Goodman. He's done some Beatles...whatever else. But Michael Jackson?

No thanks.
My sentiments too, and please stop playing Whacko on the radio here in the UK It's constant and annoying now!!!
Come on, you guys, do you need to call people names?

Call who people names?

Sure, Jimmy's not a cover artist - that was Elvis. But JB sure does a lot of covers, ha ha.

Yeah i was wrong to call him Whacko, afterall he was your normal everyday kinda guy, just like all of us!
Is it ok to say 'If he was'nt crazy he would have gone insane :D
History lesson, History lesson...MJ did not invent the moonwalk, here is a video from the 50's which my good friend Paul Hardcastle put together with his own music, some really good moves reminiscent to MJ but filmed before he was born

Is that what it is? That he's called Whacko? The English press have called him that for EONS.

He earned it. No one here has called anyone names.

It must have been the Whacko, can't see anything else, and he has been called Whacko Jacko here for 20 years or more at a guess...

I remember during the 80s Jimmy was making fun MJ for what he was trying to pass off as music. I don't see Jimmy covering any MJ song.

Try telling that to anyone wearing a Dale Earnhardt shirt/jacket/hat, or running around with a #3 bumper or window sticker on their car.

Dale Earnhardt was current - he never disappeared or was a freak or did anything to children other than make them want to drive really fast in circles.

Jacko, on the other hand, died and suddenly millions of people crawl out of their Cheetos to proclaim how great he was? He hadn't done anything in YEARS. And he was a total freak of nature - National Geographic could have had a running issue on him.

Smlchng took my suggestion about this.

Ducky, although I don't disagree with your second paragraph, once again you've missed the point I was trying to make. Dirty Dale has been dead for eight-plus years now, but the bulk of the mouth-breathers that make up the NASCAR fan base are still carrying his banner, buying his merchandise, and making his widow a rich woman. How many other racers who died while they were still active got that sort of action/affection/idolization?

*THAT'S* what I meant with the reference to Earnhardt fans. They need to remember that no matter how much money they blow buying that shït, he still ain't gonna come back.

Ah but then again you missed my point - he never was a freak, he was down to earth and he was always current. I don't have any affinity with or towards NASCAR or any other car racing that requires one to watch cars go around in a circle all day. But he was a good sportsman and an icon and a classic. That's the point.

MJ wasn't and hasn't been since the 1980s.

Yeah - but it seems some people have taken it seriously - and with JB's tenacity to cover people...and actually, it's not funny to joke about JB covering Whacko - it's beyond the awful horrible indecency of Jimm Buffettism. At least, old skool.
