One of the true gentlemen of the NHL...I loved watching him play hockey. Talk about a guy who was the face of a franchise-him, Forsberg, and Roy. He will be missed

All the best wishes.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

Hockey players are hot! They just play a boring sport.

Thanks, er, I think. Unfortunately ladies, I'm married. And so is Joe. :D

He was/is a classly player. A true "lead by example" kind of a guy. He will be missed. And, we should thank the Washington Capitals for trading the draft pick that was used by Quebec to draft Sakic.

Joey Sakic was always a class act and I had the utmost respect for him. I remember him playing for the Nordiques against my Habs...those games were always classic.

For the life of me though, I can't see how anyone can call hockey boring.

Joey is "my man." He has been my favorite since we got the Avs. His son and my daughter are the same age. I'm hoping I can be related to Joe someday!

I'm so sad that he is retiring, but I don't think he can realistically recover from his hand injury (stupid snowblowers).

I'll miss you Joe!!!!!

  I'm another Michiganian who "doesn't get" hockey. But most people think I'm boring because I love baseball...which has a tendency to move slower. (Any you get a better look at the cute players because the uniforms don't cover them all up) A nice summer day...outside at the ballpark....ahhhh! [smilie=happydance.gif] Inside with a rink of ice and stuff moving too fast for me to see....not so much [smilie=graytard.gif]

Thanks Penny for posting this and letting me see what a hockey player looks like

Oh, it's okay. Baseball's a great sport too; it is a tad slower pace. A nice afternoon at the ball park is loads of fun. And yeah, hockey players can be a bit ugly. That's usually caused by no facemask, flying pucks and flying fists. Now here's a guy who isn't so good looking (except to his mom):
