I found a scenic drive that goes near a couple of casinos on the way up......I will probably loose my Don for a few hours to a casino

If you are doing the drive up I5 to Burlington and
then the Chuckanut Drive, you will pass by the Tulalip Casino
http://www.tulalipcasino.com/
in Marysville (it will be on the left hand side on the highway)
They have a decent lunch buffet and if you feel like doing some
shopping while Don hangs out at the casino there is the
Seattle Premium Outlet Mall right next door
http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=71
Make sure that you have your passports with you or you will have a hard time
going back across the border into Washington State.
Also it is good to fill the gas tank up before you cross the border....gas
is pretty expensive up here
Where are you staying in Vancouver?

Thanks .......that should work out well. I think we are going to do the drive you suggested.
We are staying at the Westin Bayshore on Bayshore Drive.
We will have our passports in tow and thanks for the gas suggestion!

The Westin is in a great location. Stanley park is not far from there.
Some very good restaurants nearby as well
