Question about Atlantic City concert, 8/23

Post by thefletch »

I just went to Ticketmaster and bought floor seats to Atlantic City!!! What I don't understand is how are these tickets available on Ticketmaster when it is pretty common knowledge that all tickets sell out pretty instantly when they go on sale?

If you go to Ticketmaster right now there are all kinds of floor seats right in front of the stage! Am I missing something?

The story in the newspaper back in March was that this show sold out instantly and yet Ticketmaster seems to be showing many tickets.

I just checked some of that thread. Are you saying that Ticketmaster has made a mistake and I will be notified of it at some point???? I am not sure I am understanding the Camden Pits thread.

No, you'll be fine. Ticketmaster screw us on Pit seats in Camden. Those concerts sold out too and all of a sudden TM started dropping these awesome seats. We all bought them and then were told we couldn't have them, that they never should have been out there to begin with. After many complaints I'm sure they won't make the same mistake again. I wouldn't worry.

That seems to be the exact same thing wouldn't it? How can it be possible all these good seats are available in AC right now? Maybe I should call TM and verify. I have already made travel plans!!

That seemed like a good deal to be right in front of the stage to me! I just feel like I am missing something, how can these awesome seats still be available and wouldn't newly available seats be gobbled up instantly?

I had seats for the 6/18 show dead center front row, they were taken back and it turned out that Jimmy's Production Managers friend was awarded the coveted seats. These could be comps that the casinos couldn't get rid of.

i've heard that some seats are people who ownt the first right of refusal at certain venues. Also some I have heard come from declined credit cards....others...well...i just don't know. maybe some PH clubs don't use up their allotments?

All valid points. If it makes you feel better you can call TM to confirm. Just keep an eye on your email leading up to the show, if anything is arye they should alret you. If something does happen don't worry you can alway find a fellow PH with an extra. :D

Thanks for all of those answers. If anyone else has any theories or ideas I would love to hear them. I am going to AC no matter what, I want to make sure I see the show! I will call TM and report back to see what they say.

I called Ticketmaster and they told me that these tickets are real and are probably because of various promotions by AMEX and such being put back to Ticketmaster. I am so psyched and am remaining cautiously optimistic. They also told me about credit cards being declined but would it really take many months for that to work its way through the system???

This is a once in a lifetime chance to get floor seats in the front!!!! Get onto Ticketmaster and check it out. I gobbled up the max.

I wish I could buy more than 6, I would buy a whole Floor section!

I went to pick up my tickets from Ticketmaster and still can't believe my good luck. 2 tickets in Row 9 on the floor, 4 tickets in Row 11! I can't believe there isn't a bullrush to get these things!

Parrotheads, you must take a juicy bite of this goodness!

We picked up Floor 3, row 3, the day tix went on sale. A lot are turned off by the ticket price but to be that close, for a change, is worth it. 8)

The funny thing is ticket prices are so high to get good seats anywhere on this tour. People sometimes pay a few hundred bucks just to get in the house. $220 for floor seats is just spectacular because they are never usually available as you know. EVER!

I have to think that these extra Ticketmaster tickets will disappear as August approaches.

Oh, I know alright. I was 1 that got screwed by the T'master 5th row debacle. Wound up w/2nd row dead center courtesy of LiveNation. Now we are definately spoiled. 8)

I read through this thread and IMMEDIATELY went to purchase tickets. I cannot believe that they are actually available!

So psyched to see this show, I am just totally amazed and somewhat confused that these tickets became avilable. I went to buy them a day after they first went on sale and got SHUT OUT.

These are going to go really fast. Why wasnt there an announcement to let people know?

I am wondering the same thing. I am surprised that the mother ship Margaritaville.com doesn't post something there to let Parrotheads know.

I am so excited for this AC concert now with these floor tix I am blending a big batch of Margaritas! For one!

I am still just amazed that all these tickets secretly went back on sale. More importantly, I am going to AC to see Jimmy! I hope somebody figures out how this happened.

Mansfield was great this year, both shows. Nasty weather, but spirits were high
