Re: margaritaville rum
In May I was in both the Orlando and New Orleans MVille Cafes and workers at both had no idea about when it was coming out. Not servers, not bartenders, not gift shop managers. Nobody knew.
As for the rum itself, I have no expectations but I can't wait to try it when it comes out.

OK let me get this straight - if you don't like the beer or tequila you're not allowed to post in this thread?
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

No, I think it's more along the lines of "if you don't like the beer or tequila, and because of that you're condemning the rum out-of-hand and without a fair trial, your input is not likely to be relevant to this thread".ph4ever wrote:OK let me get this straight - if you don't like the beer or tequila you're not allowed to post in this thread?
I could be wrong, though.

This thread isn't about whether you like or dislike the rum, tequila or beer. If you don't like the beer or tequila, or want to dismiss the rum out-of-hand, start a different thread.ph4ever wrote:OK let me get this straight - if you don't like the beer or tequila you're not allowed to post in this thread?
The OP asked if anyone knew when it would be out. There was no reason to highjack the thread and start slaming the rum just some people don't like the tequila or the beer. Trust me, we get it. There are posters on BN that don't like them. That has been made CRYSTAL CLEAR. If you don't like them, then don't drink them and stop highjacking threads.
Every time someone starts a thread asking a Margaritaville product, the haters have to come on and tell us AGAIN. We KNOOOOOW already!!!

Hmmm, never seen the Jerk ones. I will have to keep my eye open for them.PartofthePhlock wrote:HD18JBGuy wrote:The shrimp are too expensive. The jerk shrimp was the one i tried. I thought they were dry and not very well seasoned. I did think the price was fair. I could make better buying fresh shrimp and a jar of Walkerswood jerk.PartofthePhlock wrote: The Jamin Jerk shirp is gooood. And they are bigger than we expected. Definitely worth the $$. I guess "you can't handle the truth".
Read what I said. Then get back to me. History and majority is at work here. The beer is OK when really cold and the only thing available, otherwise not. The tequila is OK/bad. We don't know about the rum yet. Until it comes out, that is - it's like being a Cubs fan. Need I say more?
No.

Re: margaritaville rum
I'd be willing to give the rum a try.
The tequila is fine by me, and I think it's relatively comparable to the Jose Cuervo that it's in the same price range with. It ain't no Patron...but it's not priced like Patron either.
With the possible exception of the lime, I don't think much of the flavored tequilas. The little Last Mango travel-sized that they toss into the MOTM gift bags doesn't get used until I can mix it into a pitcher of margaritas to mask the flavor.
The beer is a poor imitation of the Corona it appears to be competing with, and I consider it to be significantly overpriced. It's a good $4/sixpack beer being sold for $7 or so. "Comes out of a shark; that's why it's yellow."
I kinda liked the Lone Palm Amber they were serving in M'ville for a while.
I've tasted the shrimp at Street Fest. It ain't bad, but I'm not much of a shrimp person.
Like I said, I'll try the rum when it comes out, and see if it's worth what they charge for it. Until then, it ain't worth gettin' exercised over.

Again YOUR history, and who's majority?? I'm sorry, did I miss the poll? Just because there is a vocal minority does not mean everyone dislikes these products.
Again, it's funny that there are legitimate questions about the Margaritaville products and the haters have to come and try and legitimize themselves. It's okay to dislike them. Really. But the rest of us don't need to hear it anymore. WE GOT IT. Either start another hate thread or create a support group, but stop highjacking threads.
