I like the tequila and not really Landshark so much but I don't feel the need to down people that do like it. It seems some make trouble just for the sake of making trouble.
I've met a couple of these so called internet tough guys at shows and they're totally different and nice people in person which leads me to ask, why portray an a$$hat on here if you're not gonna be the same in person?

Is that determined by how many postings are tallied up under their forum name? Sort of like, your really cool if you have 15,762 MySpace friends? Seems to be the case with those that act in this manner. But not to generalize; 99.9% of the people here are legitimately nice people and I will generally give the benefit of doubt to the .1% that are hosers, until I meet them in person.

For those who have had it, I'm curious!

Does it taste like a rum from an English speaking island, or Spanish?

I must say that I don't care for the Spanish rums, but lean heavily in the direction of the English.

Up until about two weeks ago my favorite rum had been Pussers, however then I had the pleasure of buying some Zaya from Trinidad.

O.M.G.!!!!!!!!

So smooth it doesn't even need ice.. but you want it to stay chilled, so ice it is.

Best rum I've ever had to date: Zaya from Trinidad.

Zaya is really good. Did you get to try the Guatemalan Zaya? Since you like it, look for Ron Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva. It's my go to rum for sipping (drinkupny.com carries it for $29 with free shipping if you spend $100- their Zaya is $35).

I expect Margaritaville rum to be about on par with Bacardi or Captain Morgan.

Personally, I think the Landshark is terrible. Then again, I think the same about Corona, so I wasn't expecting to like it when it came out. My problem with LS is the price. Corona is imported, hence the higher price. LS is not and should be cheaper in my opinion. But, I could really care less since I am not buying it anyway. As for the Tequila, does it really matter that much once you mix it into a Margarita. I don't see anyone using Patron for margaritas. Maybe I'm wrong, but I wouldn't waste that much money to use it that way. The Rum will no doubt be on the same lines as Captain Morgan. Good for making Pina Coladas much the same as the Tequila is good for making Margaritas, which is surely what its intentions were.
