Our 15 year old rat terrier, Rizzo, passed away in his sleep in November, in his favorite place--in bed between hubby and me. Thank God we had adopted a new terrier (or as my husband calls him, a terrierorist) a few months before. Miss Rizzo so much, he was such a part of my life. And yes, I kiss my dogs on the lips.
We have been checking out the shelters for a new friend, my allergies are bad too, but a poodle, brishon or some sort of mix like this will work just fine (I hope). Can't wait to have a new pal
My lil' Jessie was sick the last two days. She is feeling better though, 14½ now, hearing is really going and cannot see well. Try not to move the furniture too much for her. She is doing good now! Wanting her treats again *piglet*
The one commandment about being with at the end. I was there for Norman (was 10). Late night, he was very ill, walked down to the middle of the yard. I told him if he does not have to 'pee' then let's go to bed. He walked back up to me, tripped, I helped him up the steps and then collasped on me. That was it....I'm sorry, now I'm crying....Pets are wonderful!!!
My horse as he gets older is being more sweet. Okay that is enough, going to bed...

Here is a picture of my Squirt... I had to put him down 4 years ago - Kidney failure.. hardest thing I ever had to do but I couldn't watch him suffer like he was... We had 13 great years together....
Here is my new baby.... I didn't want another black and white cat but it just kind of happened. Her personality completely opposite of Squirt's. She is the Queen... has the entire family wrapped around her paws...

I love them both!
I know that feeling a little too much but the hardest one was Roo (bottom cat left hand pic) he was just a yr old I miss him to this day & it has been 3 yrs. We have a table of containers with their ashes & their pics in a little frame on top on each-total in our 26yr marriage is 5
Squirt is buried at my folks house under some of the roses we brought back from Lubbock after my grandma passed. I'm still trying to find a decent memorial plaque... all the ones i see in catalogs look so cheap...
There's a bed next to my computer, and right now both of my dogs are lying on it.
The little one (Sheba) is sound asleep (she looks so peaceful), and the German Shepherd (Desdemona) is watching me and wondering when we're going to take a ride to the dog park downtown.
We'll probably go there after I play on the computer for a while and have some breakfast.
Sheba will hopefully be awake by then-I don't want to wake her up, she looks very happy while in dreamland.
So, I came downstairs this morning before after waking up the kids and and I found a small piece of tinfoil on the floor in the kitchen. It's early and I'm trying to think where that could come from but I've seen this before with our old dog who was a counter-surfer and enjoyed many a meal not meant for him. So I walked around the kitchen, into the playroom and into the dining room. The dining room table has several clean serving plates from yesterday's bridal shower and 2 plates of small cupcakes. The 3rd plate is sitting on the floor, with no cupcakes and lots of bite marks in the tinfoil wrappers. I laughed and was thankful the dog didn't eat the tinfoil. My son comes down a few minutes later and I show him the plate and tell him what happened. He say that Gretzky (our current dog) is like Shadow (our old dog) except Gretzky licks more and fetches a ball. My dog and son make me smile.
