New Orleans Saints' Head Coach Sean Payton was a guest writer for Sports Illustrated columnist Peter King this week. In the "10 things I think I think" section, he wrote this:
3. I think I heard that Jimmy Buffett wants to see a Dolphins-Saints Super Bowl. I would like that as well, especially since it would mean I'd be facing my good friend Tony Sparano. And despite Buffett's recent business partnership with the Dolphins, I think he would be wearing a Saints jersey in that Super Bowl scenario.
Do you think he would? (and no, it's not too early to be talking football )

I would hope he would wear a Saints jersey, but being the savvy business man JB is, he would have no choice but to wear a Miami jersey. I have no allegiance to either team other than 1/3 of my fantasy players were Saints last year and I always cheer them on.
i don't think you will see either team in the Super Bowl....but if it did happen this year...i'd say he would have to wear a Dolphins jersey due to the deal he made with Ross and Landshark!

That was my thought. It will not be Land Shark Stadium when the Super Bowl is played there (although it was funny to watch the Phillies play the Marlins and see all the Land Shark signs).
So he either joins the latest celebrity owner - Marc Anthony - and coughs up some money to buy in, or he is free to be a Saints fan.
BTW, according to Mike & Mike on ESPN radio, Marc Anthony is a Giants fan and his wife, J-Lo grew up a Jets fan but was wearing a Dolphins jersey for the press conference!
My biggest fear is that when I die, my wife will sell all my Buffett stuff for what I said I paid for it!

Yep - I was going to say he could take a page out of Ray Rayner's book, and go with the half and half jersey should the need arise.
(I couldn't find a picture, but Ray Rayner is a Chicago icon who hosted a kids show back in the day, and he wore a baseball hat that was the Cubs on one side, and the Sox on the other... he'd wear it to deliver scores and highlights from their games, turning it to the team he was talking about at the time.)
