Kenny Cheesney is in town this weekend and there's a write-up in today's paper about him with mentions of JB and Mac . . . a nice nod to Mac ("a country-music legend in his own right.")

"The Sun City tour moniker aims to describe the beach party/Jimmy Buffett atmosphere that Chesney brings to his stadium shows, described in a recent Salt Lake Tribune review as encouraging beach balls, alcohol (Corona is the major sponsor) and a "no shoes, no shirt" policy. The latter is a nod to Chesney hit "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem.""

"At recent shows, Chesney has performed some 20 songs in 90 minutes on stage. He's backed by up to a dozen band members, including Mac McAnally, a country-music legend in his own right, with hit singles on the Billboard and Hot Country charts, 10 studio albums and producing credits for Ricky Skaggs, Chris LeDoux and Little Feat. McAnally has worked with Chesney for nearly 20 years, and sings vocals with him on "Down the Road," from 2008's "Lucky Old Sun" album. He's set to tour in early August with Buffett, so it's likely, but not known if, he'll be at the Seattle shows."

The one thing I wanna know is how can a show featuring Chesney, Sugarland, Montgomery Gentry, Miranda Lambert, and Lady Antebellum have tickets starting at $20? When was the last time you could get a JB ticket for 20 bucks?

$20 is for the last row seats in a football stadium. Not quite as close as lawn tickets. ;)

True, but look at how many people that $20 gets shared between . . .

Mac's a busy guy . . . Friday in NYC with the real Jimmy and Saturday in Seattle with the would-be Jimmy . . .

"Halfway through the set, he brought country legend Mac McAnally to the forefront for "Down the Road," a sweet country tune about falling in love and a parent's worry that the beloved is the right one for their kin."

I paid $15 to sit on the lawn to see Jimmy back in 1989
