Same thing happened to me this year Rich, I was out for 8 weeks. Got a job and 35 days later they let me go. Then I got a better job ten days later.

I have never been a big fan of the unemployment phone system and the way it was set up. I think it's really frustrating. Sometimes it's better to go down to unemployment right when they first open and take it from there. Lot easier.

Best of luck to you. Hang in there. I'll be thinking good thoughts

Rich-
You're losing your paycheck, they're losing a very wonderful & kind human being.
So, I.M.O., THEY'RE the real losers in this thing.

And, although I've never met you, I do know that you're assests and what you have to offer will get you through this, and I'd bet my own paycheck that you'll most certainly land on your feet when this is over.
Best of luck. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you.
You're a great guy, a fantastic gentleman, and I'm proud to list you as one of my very favorite people here.

Rich, it's not my intention to make light of your situation, but I've always believed laughter to be the best medicine.

That being said, I do know of an opening for a tow truck driver if you're intrested.

Sorry to hear about the temporary blip in you employment stream! :( :o

Judy and I will be sending....get back to work soon Phin Power and Prayers out your way!

Being laid off during this tough time reflects more on how tough the economy is and less on how well you did the job. But it still hurts! :( :(

Hang in there.....a better opportunity is just ahead! :D

For whatever it's worth, I understand from a first hand perspective Rich. I've been unemployed for 7 months now.

Does your state have online services for unemployment claims? My state (Virginia) does and it makes life much easier (well, you, relatively [smilie=asa.gif] )

Hang in there kiddo. This is a horrible time for business in America (no political comments from the peanut gallery please). Things WILL get better, and good things DO happen to good people.

Hey Rich, are you really a tow truck driver? If not, what is your industry? Either way, maybe some of us so cal BN'ers can network and help you find a job.

Best of luck Rich. I know that is tough, especially since you had such a long job hunt last time. Hopefully something good turns up quickly.

Rich, I am sorry to hear this development. :-?
It's pretty damn tough out here in CA at times... I spent a lot of time parked on Craigslist to land my job this spring.
Hopefully something will pop up soon again.

As far as EDD, I skipped the aggravating phone call wait and applied online. Here's our link: https://eapply4ui.edd.ca.gov/
I was just helping a friend with this a few weeks back... he got his paperwork 5 days later.
He doesn't have a computer, and a couple nights a week I print him out job leads that are "C'list"d.

Use this link, get re-applied, and good luck... you'll be hooked up soon! :)
