Same thing happened to me this year Rich, I was out for 8 weeks. Got a job and 35 days later they let me go. Then I got a better job ten days later.

I have never been a big fan of the unemployment phone system and the way it was set up. I think it's really frustrating. Sometimes it's better to go down to unemployment right when they first open and take it from there. Lot easier.

For whatever it's worth, I understand from a first hand perspective Rich. I've been unemployed for 7 months now.

Does your state have online services for unemployment claims? My state (Virginia) does and it makes life much easier (well, you, relatively )

Rich, I am sorry to hear this development.
It's pretty damn tough out here in CA at times... I spent a lot of time parked on Craigslist to land my job this spring.
Hopefully something will pop up soon again.
