Re: laid off again
Great news Rich! It's funny how seemingly bad things can work out for the best! Years ago I got laid off after 16+ years at a Fortune 500 company (we got bought out by a bigger company and I was told that I still had a job, but it was in Torrance, CA). It took more than a year, but I ended up at Boeing with an even better job and a way better commute! That was 14 years ago, but still a painful memory. GOOD LUCK!

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but sometimes they have really good ideas....

Rich - I think they have found the pefect person for the job - you! Good luck.rich_big wrote:So I answered an ad on Craigslist today. It came with a phone number, bookkeeper job, doesn’t say much else. So I called. He asks me about my QuickBooks skills. I tell him. He says he is being audited and needs someone to fix his general ledger, can I do that? I say sure. Talked to him for about 5 mins. He wants to meet me. I offered to send my resume; he said bring it with you when you come down, when do you want to meet. I said I’ll be there in an hour. Well it turns out he runs a small production studio. I give him my resume, which is filled with entertainment industry experience. “You have experience processing residuals? You worked at AXIUM? You are the guy we are looking for!” so he is going to check my references and call me. I might start Monday.
If I get a job this fast I didn’t even have time to feel sorry for myself yet.
Wish me luck!!

Good luck Rich - I am crossing my fingers for you.
Just hope my son is lucky soon as he has an interview lined up for a week on Monday. Times are tough over here at the moment.
