Surprises?
I recall Jimmy saying in a Spring interview that this summer's tour had a ton of surprises coming...I don't mind the set list, but it's been the most consistent it has been in a while with little change. Curious to see if he is going to drop some new material soon, before the entire thing is released in November...Hopeful, let's sayyyy maybe in Detroit, as a gift in exchange for surviving the economic crisis?

Got a Beatles song that hasn't been played in awhile tonight. Does that count?

Re: Surprises?
Last leg of the tour gave us "Nobody from Nowhere", and I was lucky to be there for it's debut.
Legs before that gave us Rhumba Man and Surfing in a Hurricane....so there's a good chance another new song will be debuting this month considering Jimmy said in an interview he had a half dozen songs, and the new album is supposed to be live cuts of the new material.

Maybe the surprise will be that there will be fewer surprises this year?

Re: Surprises?
I'm not sure if it's gonna be another live album. I recall him saying it's songs for the fans, not neccessarily meaning live imo.C-Dawg wrote:Last leg of the tour gave us "Nobody from Nowhere", and I was lucky to be there for it's debut.

Summerzcool will most likely be on it and it is not live.
Also an artist whose name escapes me, posted on his site that Jimmy had recorded one of his songs. I remember this was also posted on here somewhere.
Jimmy said on Fallon the other night that the album is "ready". Hopefully that means finished or at least in the final stages.

I don't recall the new album being live but there was apparently an album of encores that was supposed to be live but evidently it's been shelved.sonofabeach wrote:I'm not sure if it's gonna be another live album. I believe the other artist in question is Will Kimbrough.
Re: Surprises?
Maybe he meant surprises for people who don’t listen to every show and follow online. You know, multiple new songs, special guests, the return of Walter Cronkite video, lost verse and so on.

"Surprises" was a reference to "Guess which shows I'm really gonna do."

Maybe he'll replace "Cheeseburger In Paradise" with "Somewhere Over China."
Now THAT would be a surprise.

Would love for that to happen....I had forgotten how much I loved "Somewhere Over China" until I put it on my Buffett Mix on the ipod this summer.Wino you know wrote:Maybe he'll replace "Cheeseburger In Paradise" with "Somewhere Over China."

Trust me, if that ever happened, the fair-weather "fans" wouldn't know whether to sh*t or go blind.Frank4 wrote:Would love for that to happen....I had forgotten how much I loved "Somewhere Over China" until I put it on my Buffett Mix on the ipod this summer.Wino you know wrote:Maybe he'll replace "Cheeseburger In Paradise" with "Somewhere Over China."

African Friend, with or without Ilo. It would be a pleasure and a hell of an evening.
