Been looking at the set lists as I prep for my Chicago and Wisconsin upcoming shows and noticed that at almost every show this year, JB is playing 'yellow submarine' by the Beatles during an encore. UGGGGGHHHHH
Not only do I not like the Beatles, but I absolutely hate that song. No particular reason, just don't like it one bit. I'm afraid after a great 2+ hrs of JB and the CRB, that song is going to taint my experience since it'll be one of the last ones I hear.

If he asked me for 2 encore songs, I'd request
1) Cowboy in the Jungle
2) Cool Change (by The Little River Band-that's a song I'm actually surprised he hasn't covered yet.)

I think it is absolutely ridiculous that he's covering "Yellow Submarine". I personally don't care for the song and think it's an insult to parrotheads everywhere (when he could be reaching into his own catalogue). I would've left Great Woods early on Saturday night had that been the last song.

Honestly, this is one I don't mind and think, sounds very good.

This has been discussed before multiple times. Not sure we need another thread on it, but for what it's worth, I don't like it at all.

I've been to two shows this year. At the Saturday Camden show Jimmy sang "He went to
Paris" for the last song, and it was great. Three days later, at the Burgettstown (Pittsburgh) show, "Yellow Submarine" was performed during the first encore and the show ended with "Lovely Cruise". It was great. But then again, I like the Beatles. Everyone around me
seemed to enjoy it also and I didn't hear any complaints. Sit back and give it a chance.
You might like it. If not, you can an early start back to your car and beat the crowd.

i like it...have not seen it live yet! but my niece Ellie LOVES Lellow Submarine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oddly enough, since I can't stream the shows, I have not heard it. It's a sing a long song. Which I do not mind.

If you watch the stage closely when they play Yellow Submarine you will notice that the entire band seems to be
having a heck of a lot of fun. It's a fun song to hear too. You don't like it? Don't worry it will be over before you know it.

I can't wait to hear/see it at Jones Beach!!!!!(and Mohegan Sun) I am a Beatles fan and I think this is a fun song for Jimmy & the band to do!! Can't wait only 19 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly. It's not my favorite by a long shot, but clearly Jimmy is going to play it all year so rather than b**** about it and allow it to ruin a concert experience (it's just one song, y'all) I decided to embrace it and have fun with it. It does work much better live than over RM/Sirius, and gets the crowd going, so I have little doubt it's here to stay. I refuse to let one song ruin a concert!

And insult? Huh? It's a song JB likes to play, they're up there having fun with it. Jimmy Buffett did not wake up one morning and say, "Hey, how can I p*ss off the Parrotheads? Ah, I'll cover Yellow Submarine."

I've been out of the Parrothead loop for most of the summer, so I'm probably the only one here who hasn't heard JB's cover.

I'll reserve judgement until I hear it, but I've got to say that every other version of it is pretty annoying.

Maybe he could put it in the middle of the set, so those who like it can enjoy it and those who don't can go get a beer.

Not my favorite. Not a big Beatles fan. I too wish he would reach deeper into his own stuff before doing 2 Beatles covers (Cinci last night). That said, won't let it ruin the concert for me.

I liked it! Just a fun song. Sure it's not one of my absolute favorite Beatles tunes, but it's a singalong, and I like the "we're all in this together" vibe it has. Okay, maybe I'm reading into this a little too much, but with the current state of the world, the economy, etc, it was nice to sing along with all my fellow Parrot Heads and know it's all good! Heh...and I liked the graphics on the screen behind the band

PS: Come Monday just came on the radio at work as I was typing this!

I love Yellow Submarine live. At the shows I've been to this year the people around me all seemed to really enjoy it too. The band has a great time playing this song and it's fun to watch!
