Adventures in Fair food:
I never saw Michael Symon host. Robert is okay.Frank4 wrote:When Michael Symon used to hose "Dinner Impossible" on the Food Network, he made choclate covered bacon on the first episode he ever did. Pork Fat and Chocolate-two of my favorites.
BTW, I think Michael Symon was a better hose of "Dinner Impossible" then Robert Irvine
Never watched any of those shows. I guess I'm too busy eating.Skibo wrote:Mmmmmm...bacon.
I never got into dinner impossible, Chopped is great, the judges get a little snarky but still good. IMO Food network has gotten hacky lately. Bizarre foods on travel is very well done and Top Chef on Bravo I think is the best food show on TV. It has been very refreshing to watch masters this summer, I love the way these great chefs respect each other and interact despite the competition.
I'm contemplating skewering a piece of bacon, wrapping it in bacon, chicken frying it and then dipping it in chocolateSeas in my veins wrote:Now bacon covered in bacon is something I could get into...
I'll have the bacon, bacon, bacon, bacon, bacon, bacon, spam, bacon, bacon, bacon and bacon. The guys from Monty Python would be proud.ph4ever wrote:I'm contemplating skewering a piece of bacon, wrapping it in bacon, chicken frying it and then dipping it in chocolateSeas in my veins wrote:Now bacon covered in bacon is something I could get into...![]()

Actually my favorite food reality show is Chopped. I love that.
That's one of my favorite ways of eating spaghetti also. Though I tend to use romano & asiago cheese these days rather than parmesan. And I'll usually use olive oil rather than butter. It's still excellent.ph4ever wrote:mommar wrote:I haven't got the nitro pills for dessert yet,so I've not tried any of these bacon recipes mentioned above, nor the one previously here on BN of bacon wrapped pork roast, nor the one that one of my friends makes........spaghetti and bacon, she crisps the bacon, takes the bacon out of the fat, but lets the fat sit til the spaghetti is cooked, (1 lb each, bacon and spaghetti) she drains the water out of the spaghetti, adds the spaghetti to a bowl with a stick of butter in it, then tosses in the bacon fat, then the bacon, stirs it all up, and seasons w/salt, pepper and parmesan cheese
