From Vicki's daughter ... great good news.
Yeah! Vicki has finally been moved from ICU to a regular room. She is in room 604, on the 6th floor, and visiting hours are from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. She does have a phone in her room although she sometimes can't get to it that quickly. The phone number is 214-645-1604. When I spoke with her earlier, she was in great spirits, but still tired and our conversation was short. ( If you know Vicki... the conversations are never short!) If you call , try and keep it short as she is still getting stronger. She does have her cell phone with her, but for right now it remains turned off. She continues to do physical therapy and is now eating some foods, such as jello and broth. She is happiest when she has visitors, so try and visit if you can.

That's awesome news about Vicki. I probably won't be in the area until Monday morning, but I'll try to stop in to see her then.

I just talked to TABC. I know everyone's intentions are good, but we can not have any alcohol in the silent auction. Thanks for your support and understanding.

Wow that is an odd one, one of my close friends owns a wine bar and puts wine baskets in most every silent auction around but I guess there are different rules for everywhere and everything. Thanks Bill for checking before-hand.

Update ...
Both of us visited Vicki and she seems to be doing well! She is continuing to get stronger each day. The feeding tube that was in place to supplement at night is going to be removed in the next 24 hours. They want her to have more of an appetite during the day and be able to eat more. She is still in room 604 and will remain there for at least a week or so. The hope is that in the next 7-10 days she will be able to be moved to a rehabilitation hospital. The rehabilitation hospital is part of UT Southwest and will be pretty close to were she is located now. We will let everyone know the information as soon as we find out. It still remains hard for her to answer and talk on the phone, so if you get her, the conversation may not be very long. She continues to say how nice it is to have visitors. Please continue to have her in your thoughts and prayers.

Update from Vicki's daughter ...
Happy Easter! Well I went to visit my mom today after church and I brought the kids along. She liked seeing them in their Easter clothes, as she always has to take several pictures each year of the kids before they change clothes. I think the kids really helped brighten her day. I was there for a little bit and she seemed to be doing very well, except for her bed sore. They are continuing to watch it to make sure it doesn't get infected. She is getting a bigger appetite and continuing to get stronger. They have not set a date for her to be transferred to a rehab hospital but hopefully it will be soon. I will let you know as soon as I hear anything. Please continue to visit, call and post messages, she loves it.

Tons of phin power going out to Vicki again..
From the caring bridge page
I wanted to inform everyone that Vicki has been moved back to ICU as a precautionary measure. She was having shortness of breath and they wanted to monitor her. She seems to have some sort of infection, but they are not sure where. At this time we do not know how long she will be back in ICU. She is room I, in CVICU, on the 6th floor. She does not have a phone in there and I'm sure that she doesn't have her cell phone either. Visiting in person will be the only contact for now. Remember that visiting hours are from 10:00 am -6:00 pm , and 8:00 pm-10:00. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers and we will let you know when anything changes.

Update from Vicki's girls ....
Upside down you're turning me......
Yep! That's our Vicki taking us on a roller coaster ride once again!
A few days ago Vicki complained of being short of breath and when the nurses checked, her lungs sounded very "wet". So, off to the ICU we go! I'm sure the nurses and docs missed her there!
The good news is that afer only a few short days in ICU, and some breathing treatments and extra diurectics, she was back in the game again!
Mom is back in a regular room - room 602 or 604. And she continues to get stronger! She needs to heal and continue her strength training in order to be moved to the rehab hospital.

I just picked up mine this afternoon, too. GPHMTA.
I'll bet Vicki is just tickled pink watching us from the great gourmet kitchen in the sky.
I'm going to make a double batch of her olives for FFFV.

Mr. Mojito doesn't like them. I don't think ABQKeet thinks much of them, either, but my brother, mother and I love them.
About to make some raspberry butter ...
Made hummus this afternoon with Kalamata olives ... toasted some pita bread ... just about the best thing I've ever had.
