He should have committed two weeks ago at the start of camp.
I'm not into football, so I really don't give a crap about all this stuff, but I agree with you SP, and I am tired of hearing about him all the time!

Normally I'd cheer for the Packers, but I hope they get their bu.tts kicked in that game.
It's what those fickle-ba$tard fans deserve.
Uhhh ... Wino —
That part about the jersey was a joke......

Yeah, I know YOU were joking, but there are already stories on Packer fans who are angry with Farve.
It has me miffed, but, then again, so do lots of things.

And, BTW, I'm a Bears fan, so I have to hope BOTH the Vikings & Packers have losing seasons. But when the Vikings & Packers play each other, the angry Packers fans will just have to get over themselves.
Hell, if JIMMY BUFFETT can say "NOT YET," why can't Brett Farve? (Who's an admitted parrothead).

Because Jimmy didn't say "I quit" and break up the Reefers, then come out the next year and say "Not yet, just kidding!" Brett did — and not just once, but twice (so far). He also played the "If I don't get what I want I'm gonna quit" card at least two times before he finally *did* "retire", but I'm not even counting those.

I think Packer fans could have gotten over it if Brett had gone to the Jets or anyone else as a free-agent, or on waivers, or some other way, and the Packers had gotten something to show for it. Packer fans got over losing Hornung and Taylor to New Orleans in the expansion draft back in 1968, after all. As for me — I'm already over it, although it will be interesting to see just what sort of "welcome" he receives when he comes onto the field against the Packers at Lambeau Stadium...from both the fans and the players. I imagine there's at least one defensive player who would be happy to make a name for himself by being the first guy to sack Brett.

Besides, I need to concentrate on my other major effort on behalf of the Packers; namely, figuring out a way so that when the Chicago Bores play the Minnesota Viqueens they both lose......

The wishy washy crap has been old for a while now. I've "retired" from doing jet ski shows 2 or 3 times now, so I can sort of relate. If he still has a passion for the game and he can pass the physical tests, I say let him play. Apparently ticket sales have spiked on the news, so maybe the Vikings get a win out of it too.

I should know this but I don't - how old was Joe Montana when he finally called it quits?

I'm sorry, I thought Favre was a great QB, probably still is a good QB but I wish he would just go away already. Everything this guy is doing isnt fair to his team(s), which ever one it is. I am actually getting so sick of hearing this guys name. Retire or don't retire but stop making an a$$ of yourself.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Packer fans at the Vikings game burn his jerseys in the parking lot if effigy, kinda like the Bills fans did for McGahee when he left Buffalo the way he has ticked them off.

Well.... first an admission - been a Packers and Favre fan since he went head-over-heels into the end zone at Soldier Field on Halloween night in 199?. Never saw a QB do that before.

Yeah, his "retired/unretired" thing has gotten old, but I kind of understand... I'm past my athletic prime, get injured a little easier and people tell me to quit, but I still lace up the basketball shoes 2-3 times a week. And yes, I've given it up a time or two, but keep getting drawn back in.

And I kind of understand him wanting to stick it to the Packers. Think about it... his last season with the Pack, they got to the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!!! Largely because of Brett Favre. The idea the Pack wouldn't welcome un-retirement in time for the next season would burn me too....

The Jets season - people seem to forget that before the bicep injury, he was a Pro-Bowl QB...

Now... I'm still a Packers fan, but when the Vikes are playing anybody else, I'll root for them. I absolutely love the idea of a graybeard showing he can still get it done. [smilie=cool_goatee.gif]

That's not going to happen.
Besides, my sources tell me the team to beat in that division is the Lions.
