Scott Kirby to release ROW ME HOME

Post by LittleFlockDistr »

Scott Kirby releases his much anticipated CD, "ROW ME HOME," at the Martha's Vineyard Songwriters Festival!

"ROW ME HOME" is produced by Russ Kunkel, legendary drummer, songwriter and producer of six Jimmy Buffett albums, Crosby Stills & Nash, and many others! The CD features an array of world class musicians, including Russ on drums and percussion, longtime Buffett co-writer Jay Oliver on keyboard; and Peter Mayer on background vocals. Other top recording artists on this project include Dean Parks on guitar, pedal steel and dobro, and Leland Sklar on bass. The CD will contain 11 new songs by Scott Kirby, along with some co-written by Russ, Peter Mayer, Jim Mayer and Roger Guth.

The inaugural Martha's Vineyard Songwriters Festival will inhabit the famous East Coast playground September 18 and 19. Staged at hotspots in Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs, MA, the festival will combine pop and country BMI hit makers in exclusive live music lineups and intimate settings, adopting the overwhelmingly successful approach of the perennially popular Key West Songwriters Festival. Advance tickets for each show are $25. Admission for both nights of performances is also available in advance for $45. To purchase tickets, visit http://www.ticketsMV.com. For more information on the Festival, visit the website at: http://bmi.com/news/entry/539473

Scott performed "BLOW ME DOWN TO CAYO HUESO" last March at the New England Parrotthead Convention, and told the story behind it. Looking forward to buying this CD.

Hmmm, my rental on Nantucket ends on Sat the 18th at noon, maybe I make another stop at the Vineyard before coming home?

I'll be on island that Sunday...frustrated I'll miss Scott by a day or two! I wonder if there will be any places on the Vineyard I can pick up the CD after the festival. Any ideas? thanks!

Got mine today, managed to listen to the first half of the first song--one of the drawbacks of a short commute. I have a pretty long drive tomorrow though, long enough to get a full listen in.

dave and i just got back from seeing Scott and Dave at a cd release gig in Portsmouth. It was great. Saw Fred (OOB) there. Scott and Dave did an unbelieveable jam/version of James Taylor Steamroller. Wish we could go to the Songwriters thing on the Vineyard next weekend.
