I just heard this too on the radio. Another sad day.
I had a strong feeling that this was coming, given his recent absence at high profile events relating to him/his family.
Sail on, Ted. I'll never forget you taking the time to say good morning to me when I was a high school kid touring DC and you were on your way to work.

Just too many questions about that incident that never got answered satisfactorily, at least in my book.

Met him twice, and he always took the time to hear what everyone present had to say. The country has lost a great man. Whether you are conservative or liberal, your life as an American has been bettered because of his service.

What a tremendous loss for his family and for our country. Yes, he had his flaws, and one, terribly serious, unforgiveable mistake in his life. but he epitomized his family's commitment to public service and worked tirelessly to better the world for those less fortunate.
There will never be another one like him.

I always think how this family is so familiar with grief, makes it even more sad.
