Does anyone know if you can find the parrothead fan footage taped during pre concerts and shown during the concert (usually during Changes in Latitude, Changes In Attitude)? Our group "Alpine Summerzcool - Class of 09" made it on the screen last weekend and it would be awesome to see it again....or better stated see it sober and clearly

Good call. I was on the screen at Bristow last weekend, but I wasn't actually inside the concert yet to see it!!

Skoolgrl<3 and I were just discussing it. We were on the screen twice this weekend and have apparently been on screens at shows we haven't even attended. I'd love to get them! We have a "guy on the inside" for last weekend's show and I think we are checking with him.

I've always said if Jimmy were to sell the video of what is seen on the big screen, he'd make a killing.....can you imagine being able to see all the concerts you've been to, and see yourself or your friends when they make the big screen? They've already recorded it, they have the audio....seems like a no-brainer to me

Because he really needs another way to make money off the concerts?? Sarcasm aside, that is a very good point. i would definitely buy it. Hell, I would probably watch it during hte offseason in anticipation of summer...

And could you imagine the lawsuits? Seriously, no one is out there getting people to sign release forms. No release forms, no sale. Oh, and even if they did sign one it could be argued they weren't in full capacity when they did.

I think he would have to do it as a news, documentary or reporting kind of thing. I think that’s how the Girls Gone Wild guy gets away with it. But he is not doing too well these days either, so maybe not.
I would love to have videos of the parking lot parties. God knows I love my Frisco DVDs.

Well, documentaries have to get written releases. Girls gone wild uses a loophole and gets on camera releases. And you're right... look how well that has turned out. I tell you all this from some experience in the matter. :/
All in all its something jimmy's company probably wants to avoid alltogether. Why bother after all when you can make so many bucks from those sweet tailgate grills! LMAO!

How about this…..videos of people grilling? Great idea, isn’t it?
I doubt any of this will ever happy because as a society we are too sue crazy.
Now I believe in Calif, (I have been told this, might just be an urban legend) when they send you the camera ticket for running a red light, they only show the driver and black out everyone else’s face in the car. And guess why….you got it. Supposedly they mailed a photo of some dude with someone in the car, other than his wife to his house. Well, that’s a lawsuit.
Oh, and my coffee was hot, and my lemonade was too lemony.
Now that I think of it, screw finding a job. Tomorrow I am going to Wal-Mart and fall down. Who wants to be my witness?

Better not. Somebody will get a picture of you, you'll end up on this site, and then you'll have to sue.

If I help by giving you a quick push, can I get a quarter of your settlement?

I attended a Robert Cray concert once that was being filmed for video release.
There was a notice above every entrance and I believe a notice on the back
of the ticket.
That pretty much covers the whole "Being sued" idea.

Right for those that bought tickets... however as we know not everyone who tailgates has bought a ticket. Loopholes loopholes...

Working in midtown Manhattan for 13 years, I saw a lot of movies and TV shows shooting scenes. They always posted signs that XYZ show or movie was being filmed and by being in the area you acknowledged that you may be filmed and were giving consent to your image being used without compensation. All they'd have to do was post signs like that at the entrance to the parking lot and at a few spots in the lot and they're covered.

That's what I was trying to say.
Thanks Larry for making it even more clear.

From my friend of a friend:
Once the tapes are turned in they become property of Jimmy and it is almost impossible to get anything.
...
The problem is there is sometimes hours of footage so to find the exact clip could take a while. But if it was used in the show that helps.
It seems rather "needle in a haystack" and they are probably less willing to take the time to hunt for it by request. But I bet if you had a really really good story for why you need a copy, someone would probably look for it for you.

But here's the thing.. the venue runs the show outside the concert. Everything from security, to parking, to cleanup.
Jimmy's production staff runs the show inside. In order for this to be applicable it would seem Jimmy's corp would have to run both the lot and the actual concert. Otherwise their action (eg distribution of video) and any resulting legal action would put the venue in the bullseye of the lawyers along with Jimmy B's org. Not to mention the venue would most likely want a piece of the action too, if for no other reason than to justify the real-estate to put up the signs and the legal fees if litigation were to happen. For all I know some venues may already do this.
Thats one heck of an agreement to have to work out for both parties, and when you're selling Margaritaville blenders and Grills, already hammering out details just to put on the show, and wanting to keep playing proven venues year after year, its just not worth the risk for Buffett or worth risking the relationship with the venue.

It’s not a needle in the haystack. I am the guy in the Hawaiian shirt with a funny hat on and a bunch of different colored beads around my neck. I did a quick dance and then looked in the camera and screamed “Woooooo!!!” You mean you don’t remember me?
