Gather'roun grand-babies, let me tell you a story
T'was The Night Before Buffett
T'was the night before Buffett and all through the tiki hut
I was running around crazy trying to find my plastic fake butt.
The grass skirts were laid out right next to the beer
With the thought that Buffett soon would be here.
All the Parrotheads were sleeping, catching some winks
With visions of margaritas and frozen Boat Drinks.
With Mom in her coconut bra and I in my lei,
Just couldn't sleep ‘cause we'll see Jimmy in one more day.
When all of a sudden the whole house shook
I jumped out of my hammock to go take a look.
I ran to the window to see what it could be
Knocked over the cooler and the inflatable palm tree.
The nighlight was broken, and the house was quite dark,
and my head was still spinning from finshing that case of Landshark.
When what did appear to my half hung-over peepers,
Was the Hemisphere Dancer and 13 Coral Reefers.
In the cockpit an ole little tan pilot did sit,
I knew right away it had to be Buffett.
They came out the plane with tequila in hand;
There was Utley, and Robert, the whole Reefer band.
"We got lost on our way to the Nissan show,"
"Can you give us directions on which way we should go?"
One too may kosher pickles, and too much cold draft beer,
Makes this plane really hard to steer.
That's no problem Jimmy I can get you there,
How about some drinks, after all it's 5 o'clock Somewhere.
We grilled burgers and shrimp till the band had its fill
I told him, "You were supposed to make a left not a right at Margaritaville.
He said come on reefers, we can't be late,
You too big Mac, you crazy Fruitcake.
They climbed in the plane while doing the limbo,
"Now I know, where we're gonna go (when the Volcano Blows) – (couldn't help myself
) I could hear Bubba say as the Dancer took off out of sight,
Fins to the left, and Fins to the right.
