I agree, Gary & Penny! I got to go to Tampa, and other than the lack of Porta Potties, it was great!!! I wasn't planning on buying tickets to the show in O-town, but was going to tailgate. Oh well, not a big deal. Next time!!!

You know what would REALLY be funny would be if Jimmy cancelled ALL the east coast dates and did places like Seattle, Portland, San Diego, etc., instead.

For me, it isn't that bad that the show is no longer there. It looked likely I wasn't going to make it anyway (I say this selfishly). Even though I know some people are going to be disappointed, I agree with Dave and say until the tickets go on sale, I assume the date is tentative. Oh well, as the song says: Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On.

So, who's got the popcorn?

This is weak, once again. And, once again, don't give me that "not official until on sale dates are posted." This is squarely at Buffett's feet; if your official website lists a concert date, how is not official? How about this - don't post dates until you have all your ducks in a row. Bush league at best.

How about "Don't book anything until you have a ticket?" I don't think this is rocket science.
It happens in every area...sports, cinema, concerts. DON'T plan a trip around something that is not a sure thing. And even if it is a sure thing, there are cancellations (due to weather like the US Open), etc.

Get over it, change your plans and move on.

There just better not be any more cancelled shows! Especially if it was MSG or Mohegan Sun! I don't know what I'd do...

Oh, except save some money & just stay home. I'm sure there are some local artists I could support. 8)

Now I really do feel for the ones that made plans around shows that were announced. Something's wrong somewhere.

Why are you so eager to be an apologist for this? I happen to live in Orlando, and actually wasn't going to be able to go to the show due to business travel, so this really doesn't affect my world. Don't presume to know my situation.

I get it. S#@t happens, so stuff can change. I have no problem with that. My issue is that (a) this is the second time this has happened this year and (b) so many people on this site seem to think that a concert date, posted on the artist's OFFICIAL WEBSITE, is somehow not an official concert, so those who made plans, and are reasonably disappointed and in some cases upset, are somehow in the wrong. If people were making plans based on internet rumors from a fan board, then it's a different story. But basing plans on an OFFICIAL ARTIST WEBSITE? Seems reasonable. But apparently not in your world.

Who just said anything about traveling far and wide??? :-? :-? :-?

And it's not called sympathy... It's called common sense!

I have said over and over that until tickets go on sale that show does not exist! What they post at Margaritaville.com means nothing!

The only time I recall an official "cancellation" was in 2003... and it was my BN join date. A show was going to be played... in California I believe... And Jimmy, on the day of the show, said he had to go see his mother that was gravely ill... In fact, she had already died...

Now, that's a cancellation!

I just don't think saying "GET OVER IT" is very nice....some people CAN'T go far for shows and when one is supposed to happen in their area and then it gets cancelled i can understand their being upset.

I understand people being upset, too. Actually, I had plans for the West Coast and for Orlando. You are taking the words, "GET OVER IT" out of context and trying to start a fight with me for some reason. You have been doing this for months and I am not sure why. If people did not make plans until they had tickets, there would not be a problem.

Just a couple of quick questions....

1. Is Margaritaville.com the official website for Jimmy Buffett?
2. If so, and if shows listed on that official website that have not placed tickets for sale "don't exist", why should they be posted at all?

Michelle i am not trying to pick a fight with you, but i think the things that you say and the way that you say them are not very sympathetic...so people made mistakes and booked before tickets were on sale, hopefully they have learned from this concert year, but there is no reason to be mean to them.

All due respect, you're wrong. I made no plans, but I still have a problem. My problem is with Buffett and his management. Once again, they have posted, on an official artist website, an upcoming concert date, and then cancelled it. This is, as I said above, pretty weak. You'd think that after the earlier episode, they wouldn't post dates until they are 100% wrapped up. And apparently they didn't.

By the way, I checked the Amway Arena schedule. It is open on 11/14. Any conflicts appear to be on Buffett's end.
