I can understand their upsetness. Jimmy blew us off in Raleigh 2004-2007. BTW!

Nothing you can do if Jimmy does not come to your town, and you cannot leave your town.

For those that CAN go to shows outside of their town, it still does matter!

Had Jimmy not "cancelled" Vegas and Seattle in October, or Orlando in November, things would have been very different here...

That all does not make me happy, but I think I can get over IT!

Well maybe some people need to VENT a little bit about it before they get over it....i thought this board was friendly enough that they could do that, but maybe i am wrong about some people here.

How about "Don't book anything until you have a ticket?" I don't think this is rocket science.
It happens in every area...sports, cinema, concerts. DON'T plan a trip around something that is not a sure thing. And even if it is a sure thing, there are cancellations (due to weather like the US Open), etc.

Get over it, change your plans and move on.
Gee Michelle it's so nice of you to be so sympathetic to people who DON'T have the means to travel far and wide for a Buffett show...how very BUFFETY of you.
Who just said anything about traveling far and wide??? :-? :-? :-?

And it's not called sympathy... It's called common sense!

I have said over and over that until tickets go on sale that show does not exist! What they post at Margaritaville.com means nothing!

The only time I recall an official "cancellation" was in 2003... and it was my BN join date. A show was going to be played... in California I believe... And Jimmy, on the day of the show, said he had to go see his mother that was gravely ill... In fact, she had already died...

Now, that's a cancellation!
Just a couple of quick questions....

1. Is Margaritaville.com the official website for Jimmy Buffett?
2. If so, and if shows listed on that official website that have not placed tickets for sale "don't exist", why should they be posted at all?
1. Yes
2. Do you really believe everything you read on the internet????

Oh what a crock of bs!! You basically stalked me for weeks after my being upset over the Seattle show. It didn't matter what thread I posted in you just had to come try to start crap with me.

Christine, you have been picking fights with me in a lot of threads over the last few months and I am not sure why. I thought we used to be friends. You can ask a lot of people on this site, I have been more than nice and more than generous to them in the past few years. I have made many mistakes and booked a lot of trips before their time. It doesn't mean that I don't have "empathy" for the people that have made similar mistakes. I thought we all learned from those nasty West Coast threads. I wasn't trying to insult anyone who made Orlando arrangements. I had already made plenty for that show.

I was not picking fights with you just saying what i saw as far as you being unsympathetic to people who booked trips based on Buffett shows and when you said you were glad that the west coast shows were cancelled..i don't think that was very nice. That's picking a fight???

I understand people being upset, too. Actually, I had plans for the West Coast and for Orlando. You are taking the words, "GET OVER IT" out of context and trying to start a fight with me for some reason. You have been doing this for months and I am not sure why. If people did not make plans until they had tickets, there would not be a problem.
I thought you were glad the west coast dates got cancelled. That's what you said.
Actually, if you remember correctly (but I think the thread got mysteriously deleted), I said I was glad that the West Coast dates got cancelled because I never wanted to run into you. Remember?

Yep, you're absolutely right. I've seen the error of my ways. Silly me, expecting the official Jimmy Buffett website to have official, up-to-date, and accurate information about concert dates. And information about upcoming Jimmy Buffett projects - like a DVD of a live performance from New Orleans. Yessir, I should just hit my knees every night and thank the stars above that Jimmy still tours, so maybe I can get the opportunity to see the man sing great Jimmy Buffett songs like "Dancing Nancies", or "Glory Days", or even "Yellow Submarine." Yessir, I've seen the light.

Say, pass me some more of that kool-aid, would ya? It's delicious!

Bottom line, it's not fun throwing money away for nothing. I lost somewhere around $1,000 when we had to cancel plans for the Waikiki show in 2006 or 2007. The show wasn't canceled and it had nothing to do with JB - we just had to change our plans, and that was our exposure at the time. Yes life went on, but I do feel for people with non-refundable deposits at stake.

Earlier this year I booked 9 rooms at the Comfort Suites in Frisco, before anything had really been confirmed. The hotel sold out that day so if I hadn't done that, several folks would have been looking elsewhere for a room. The reality is that by the time the tickets actually go onsale, the best hotels are full and flights can be harder to find. For years I think that's been a big draw of BN for a lot of people - getting a jump on show information before everything fills up. With 2 canceled dates this year, maybe those days are over.

I'm just glad I didn't put anything into action for a PTM tailgate in Orlando, otherwise I'd be processing refunds right now.

Silly you - why should anyone believe a youtube video of the man actually telling your the concert dates and locations?? Shame on you!!!

Nothing mysterious about it. When people are personally attacking people, threads go bye bye.

Now it'd be nice if that wasn't going to happen here in this thread. Enough is enough.

wow - you'd rather screw it up for several thousand people than try to be a decent human being at a tailgate. Tells a lot about your character now doesn't it?

Call it whatever you want! And... I sort of take that as a personal attack! :(

I am so happy with the fact that I NEVER EVER called Jimmy Buffett a liar!

I will get over this! And I sure hope you people in the west will too!

I'm sorry but I have to disagree - when the man himself puts out a youtube or google earth announcing shows then they are confirmed dates - otherwise he's just a liar and playing with people because he can.
