Re: Do you have a fave Beatles album?
Any and all of 'em. I just miss the days when albums had a theme. Careful thought went into the order of the songs on side 1 and side 2, the album art, liner notes, everything. Not just a collection of "live" recordings or seemingly random songs tossed into a package.

Re: Do you have a fave Beatles album?
That's because they only list the UK versions of their early albums, several of which were reissued on US albums with different titles. Most of the songs on Meet the Beatles are on With the Beatles. "I Saw Her Standing There" is on Please Please Me, and I think a couple of others were not released on any UK album.Bicycle Bill wrote:'Meet the Beatles' isn't even listed.

I'm one of those who are old enough to remember getting most of the Beatles albums when they first came out (on vinyl)
Abbey Road is still my favorite

I'm on vacation on Nantucket, it's my first day here and it's supposed to rain until tomorrow. Imagine my delight when I turned on the big screen HD TV in my rental only to find that "A Hard Day's Night" and "Help!" are on.
Brings back my 12 year old self. (Except for the bottle of wine I'm enjoying them with!!)
I feel really lucky to have been around for the start of the Beatles.

Just so folks know, this member is a spammer trying to generate hits for his thisdayinmusic site. You can check his post history here. You can also Google "spiritinthesky" and see just how many boards he spams on a regular basis.Spiritinthesky wrote:Any Beatles fans?
http://www.thisdayinmusic.com has a poll to find out what is your favourite Beatles album.
Abbey Road has the most votes so far, then The White Album, then Rubber Soul.
Have a look if you fancy a vote.

Thanks for the info, though I didn't go to his site, just thought it was a timely topic because of the rockband release.Tiki Torches wrote:Just so folks know, this member is a spammer trying to generate hits for his thisdayinmusic site. Oh - I like all of these too - hard to pick a favorite - I guess depends on the day. I also like the red and blue albums too since I listened them to allot a million years ago playing backgammon in the dorms with a really good friend.Spiritinthesky wrote:Any Beatles fans?

Back in the day, however, EVERYONE who knew me called me an OBSESSED BEATLES NUT, but I digress.
For me, I'd have to say my favorite album is a tie between

WITH THE BEATLES / THE BEATLES "SECOND" ALBUM (U.S.)
A HARD DAYS NIGHT
THE BEATLES STORY (DOUBLE ALBUM DOCUMENTARY) (U.S.)
SOMETHING NEW (U.S.)
BEATLES FOR SALE / BEATLES '65 (U.S.)
BEATLES VI (U.S.)
HELP
RUBBER SOUL
REVOLVER
SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND
MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR
THE BEATLES (THE "WHITE" ALBUM)
YELLOW SUBMARINE
HEY JUDE/THE BEATLES AGAIN (U.S.)
LET IT BE

THE BEATLES-RARITIES I
THE BEATLES-RARITIES II
THE BEATLES-LOVE SONGS
THE BEATLES-LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL
BEATLES ANTHOLOGY I
BEATLES ANTHOLOGY II

(Yes, I have them ALL on vinyl AND C.D.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Favorite solo albums be each of them:
George Harrison-CLOUD NINE
John Lennon-IMAGINE

Favorite songs by each of them as a Beatle:
George Harrison-I NEED YOU & HERE COMES THE SUN
John Lennon-IN MY LIFE & ACROSS THE UNIVERSE
Paul McCartney-GOT TO GET YOU IN TO MY LIFE & LET IT BE
Ringo Starr-WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS & OCTUPUS'S GARDEN (and, dammit, I love YELLOW SUBMARINE too)

Too funny. That's like when mr conched walks in the room and Buffett is on...he automatically says..."That's your favorite song..."

Re: Do you have a fave Beatles album?
Hello,
I'm a huge Beatle Fan. I could never pick one album.
A lot of people don't know that all 4 appear on Ringo's self titled album "RINGO"
For me thats a great post Beatle "Beatle" album.
Also "The Band" backs up Ringo in "Sunshine life for me"
