U2 360 Tour
Had a chance to go last night in Chicago. If you're a fan, I HIGHLY recommend it. The stage is a little over the top, but the music speaks for itself. I have seen them several times in the past, and this was truely one of the best. The sound was incredible, and they were in fine form. Pretty heavy on the new album but I like the new album.
Here's the setlist:
1. Breathe
2. No Line On The Horizon
3. Get On Your Boots
4. Magnificent
5. Beautiful Day / Blackbird (Beatles cover, snippet)
6. Elevation
7. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For / Stand By Me (Ben E. King cover, snippet)
8. Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of
9. Unknown Caller
10. The Unforgettable Fire
11. City Of Blinding Lights
12. Vertigo
13. I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight
14. Sunday Bloody Sunday / Oliver's Army (Elvis Costello cover, snippet)
15. Pride (In The Name Of Love)
16. MLK
17. Walk On / You'll Never Walk Alone (snippet)
18. Where The Streets Have No Name
19. One
20. Bad / Fool To Cry (snippet) / 40 (snippet)
*ENCORE*
21. Ultra Violet (Light My Way)
22. With Or Without You
23. Moment of Surrender

Re: U2 360 Tour
I agree - Bri is the bigger fan but even for me it was very good. We caught them in Dublin in July - we actually had honest to goodness Texans sitting around us - what are the odds in an arena that size!
the stage is over the top - but heck that's what it is all about - loved the umbrellas that come out when it's raining
Great show though

Re: U2 360 Tour
There's a nice review of the Chicago show in the Wall Street Journal today. But the writer thought throwing in a verse of some other artists' song at the end of a U2 song like they did a few times was pointless.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

Re: U2 360 Tour
I would love to go to the Rose Bowl show, but tix are mucho dinero. And I am rather turned off to huge stadium shows. Tix are out of my price range.
That is also why I am not going to the Klitschko fight this weekend. Way too expensive. But I am going to see Artie Lange on Saturday.

Re: U2 360 Tour
They do little "snippets" of cover songs at the end of a few of their own... Wierd, but Bono's political ramblings get a little tiresome too. Luckily, they make up for it in what matters most.... the music.
Also, not a fan of HUGE stadium shows, and wasn't even planning on going until 2 days before the show. For a huge stadium show it was one of the best (the Stones at the Rose Bowl in '94 was the other). Good to see 70,000 standing up the whole show, singing most of the words, and sending a "vibration" through a venue of that size makes it great....

I was at the Gillette show. The stage is ridiculous . . . lots of smoke and flashing lights. After awhile it felt like we were watching tv because literally 20 minutes would go by without actually seeing the band and we had great seats. I prefer an old bald guy with a guitar who doesn't need 40 million dollars worth of stage to entertain. I got so bored during u2 . . . 8 songs off their new album which I felt was lame . . . not to mention some sh*t about Burma no one cares about (or doesn't want to hear at a rock concert) . . . I actually left to get a beer. I never do that.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

I went last night in DC and the show was really good. One thing I decided about their shows from when I have seen them is that they're always consistent in terms of performance and setlist quality. The stage is really cool!

Give it a few more years and Bono and The Edge will be bald....Seriously, I had a chance to see them opening night in Chicago. I am glad I did not go. For me, it was never going to get any better then seeing them in 1987 at Kemper in Kansas City.
I thank the Lord for the people I have found

The stage was almost worth the price of the ticket. How often can you honestly say you saw something you had never seen before? BUT after 30 minutes it got old - to me, anyways. Too much . . . I prefer James Taylor or Paul Simon or that weird Margaritaville guy any day.

Already have a couple of these down as "possible"!
I must be wishing on someone else's star....
Re: U2 360 Tour
I watched some of the show last night online. It was wonderful. I really enjoyed it. And no crowds, no line in the bathroom and no parking hassles. There was also a big thing on this morning’s news about it I saw at the gym…..
