Student council...

I think I only did student council in 2nd grade or something--was extremely insignificant. My daughter is running this year for 7th grade (yowzers that is hard to believe!!). She was in student council at her last school, too, in 4th grade I believe.
This is the first time there's been an actual election, though, so she has posters and bribes in the form of 200 different kinds of suckers and pyxie stix with little label/flags that say "Stick with me," "Sweet Success," or "Succes on a Stick" on one side and "vote for victoria, 7th grade student council" on the other.
There's only one other gal running. She gave out cookies yesterday, but only to people who told her they would vote for her. We stocked Victoria up with enough candy for everyone in 7th grade *yowzers* and then some.
Her posters rock, too. She has one with writing in duct tape that says, "I will fix things that duct tape can't" and another with newspaper clippings that says "NEWS FLASH." Today's poster (she has one for each day of the week) is written with popsicle sticks and says "Stick with me." Quite clever, that one.
The big finale is a bunch of pens with tags on them that say, "Victoria is the 'write' choice" and "Use this pen to vote for Victoria." Good thing I scored about 200 pens on back-to-school clearance for $5!
Any other exciting student council people around here?

When is the Election?
You know Uncle Don makes buttons. If it's not too late.

It's this Friday, so prolly not enough time.

I didn't know you made buttons! (Well, I think I did, but...) Thank you for the offer, though!

But won't we look silly in NYC out front of a Broadway show with Buttons that say " Victoria for a (fill in the part she is auditioning for) "
Wait.. like you and I ever worry about looking silly

Maybe she could get ACORN to register former and expelled students.

My 16 y.o. she-keet
![battingeyes [smilie=battingeyes.gif]](./images/smilies/battingeyes.gif)
has had quite the busy year. In addition to her adventures chronicled here:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=64869&p=3519404#p3519404, she's now Junior Class President as well as Student Ambassador, Student "Big-Sister", and Student Recruiter (she goes to a private all-girls Catholic school.) She made posters and fliers and buttons and stickers and gawd only knows what else . . . She was pretty stressed as the elections neared and I told her not to get too worried; if she won, great, but if she lost, that was OK too because that would be one less demand on her time. She replied "Yeah dad, but think how good it will look on my college applications."

I don't know about anybody else, but when I was 16, the last thing on my mind was college applications!

Is this school in Illinois? Sounds like she's been reading the Daley Machine handbook.....
