My first record album purchase, and my first concert ever were both Peter, Paul and Mary. Peter Travers spoke at a convention I attended a few years ago, and told wonderful stories about the 3 of them.

That voice, and that distinctive flip of her hair--she truly will be missed!

Sail on, Mary....

Sail on, Mary~~

I too remember a MAGICAL performance Peter, Paul and Mary did at a National Middle School Conference. It was especially cool to choose the same little Italian food place in Baltimore that Mary chose also. What a beautiful person.

Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the flowers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the flowers gone?
Young girls have picked them everyone.
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?

I saw this in the paper this morning. I have some good memories of going to see Peter, Paul and Mary up at Ravinia....she was a very talented lady. Thank you for all the great music and memories, Mary.

Sail on

Oh, I'm devastated. I cherish all their albums...have converted them all from vinyl to disc and onto my MP3. They were very popular in my teen years and each song brings up a wonderful memory. Sail on, lovely lady

Sail on Mary.
I think this really marks a transition. They played folk when rock (electric) wasn't cool.
