Wow. This confuses me and gives me less faith in our court system.
The dude clearly broke the law in either state by having so much and they still give it back?!?!? There are people spending a lot of time in jail for having less than this.
And he admits having a "field of it" in his backyard?!?!?!
Why did he need the scale in his trunk?
And what's with the hash?
This article creates more questions than it answers for me.

The scale and the hash had me wondering too.blackjack wrote:Wow. This confuses me and gives me less faith in our court system.

It's medical marijuana and Washington is a medical marijuana state. I'm assuming if you have to recognize the out of state prescriptions for other medications, that you would for MMJ if you are a MMJ state. (Washington also had a case a few years ago regarding a similar issue but I can't remember the outcome) The Kent police taking away his MMJ would be the equvalent of them taking away a prescribed medicine. What would be next - high blood pressure medicine, birth control pills, insulin?
Which brings me to this statement: It is way past overdue for marijuana to be legalized. We've got way too many people serving lengthy prison terms for marijuana while people who have more violent criminal records are going free because of prison overcrowding.

Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

Yes, but NOBODY is prescribed 11 POUNDS of marijuana. He broke the law, such as it is and they confiscated his stash. If he had only had the 1.5-5lbs, I'd likely be looking at this a different way. People who fought hard for medical weed laws don't want screw-ups like this ruining it for people who legitimately need it and can abide by the allowed amounts.ph4ever wrote:It's medical marijuana and Washington is a medical marijuana state. Of course he doesn't support legalization. He is making too much money dealing himself. While he doesn't support a blanket legalization of marijuana, he said the drug has helped him manage his injuries.
